2015 CB1100?
#1
In March 2015, I was lucky enough to have found and bought a brand new 2013 CB1100 that had been sitting at the dealer unsold for two years. Another dealer had a '14 all black (regular CB), and though I would have preferred a 6th gear, I'm not a big fan of the blacked out CB, and the newer turn signals. So I went with the original '13 Candy Red, but is Honda seriously no longer importing the CB1100 to the US? Are we, the '13 & '14 owners the lucky ones to have bought instant classics that were sold here only for two years, or is Honda just skipping 2015 due to an over stock?

They have to many in overstock. Since you can still find a few new 2013 and alot of new 2014 at most of the dealers. Well thats what a dealer told me, since Im looking for 2015

Have manufactures ever skipped a year or two and then came back with a new model of the same bike? Being we cant find any real statement from Honda, I wonder if they are just taking break.. Or this could be it, if so I am just glad I got my Black 2014 CB!

Well the ST 1300 has taken several hiatus's while Honda cleaned out over stocked inventory. I think it's on one now. There is no CTX 1300 in the 2015 line up. Not sure if it will be back, but it could. I'm sure there are others. They can't just keep on producing new model year bikes when they have a mass stock of them. Once they clear out they can make more.

BTW the 1983 CB1100F was a one year model in the states. The only single year model I can think of. There have been several 2 and 3 year models like the Honda Hawk, CB 400F CB 350F ..

I think the 83 550 Nighthawk was a one year bike and the 82 CX500 Turbo was one year.

Our dealership has only sold four of them in two years. Three '13's and one '14. The '14 went to one of the '13 owners who wanted to change colors.

I bought the first '13 we sold from the widow of the owner. He passed away from cancer a year after buying it. We have one '13 on the floor, and the owner doesn't want to floor any '14's until it is gone. Honda isn't providing any incentives to price it lower, so I guess they are trying to maintain the MSRP, even if the Used Market says differently. People admire it when they walk by to look at something flashier but it is rare for anyone to look at it closely. Motorcycle buyers are looking for sex appeal when they come in our store. To some, it is a cruiser, to others it is a crotch rocket, others think it is a Gold Wing, but the CB1100 doesn't boost anyone's testosterone when it is displayed amongst the other bikes on the showroom floor. (Sorry..don't shoot the messenger!)

Honda designers seem to be missing the mark since the recession. Typical reliability, wonderful engines & transmissions, adequate suspension, good pricing. But the styling doesn't connect with the market right now. Valkyries were totally restyled for '13 to much fanfare, but never caught on. There are no '15's. As someone else wrote, there are no 2015 CTX1300's, or NC700X's and CTX700's. The DCT transmission is a great step forward, but an answer to a question nobody asked.

Anyway, I'll be surprised if the CB1100 is produced again. Sure glad I have mine already. And I like having a limited edition bike. I'm sure parts will be there for a long time. Honda does support customers that way. I had a blast riding mine to work today. Just installed the Power Commander V last night. Works well with the full Yosh sytem. Getting ready for the ECU relash, then a Dyno test. Life does not suck.

Two different solutions to the same problem, but you don't do both together. You pulling the PCV right back off again, after the flash?
