I am surprised to see that there is no communication between the owner of this Forum and the Moderators who do all the work !

If I were managing a life event crisis, my remaining physical and/or emotional energy might be directed to immediate family - whether I am aware of it or not.
I'd probably let other things wait until I found the extra margin.

And as I spoke of earlier- I am amazed it has devolved to this. Don't want to do this anymore? It literally only takes a few minutes to transfer login/password to someone else to take over. This is extremely simplistic.

I'm on FB, so keep us clued in if that is the route we have to take.
If this place goes dark and we have a Facebook group set up, then those willing can inform the facebook folks of the new forum. Assuming the worst happens here. Better to plan for the worst and hope for the best.

I'm on facebook and in a cb1100 group which is very quiet, about one post every 2 weeks and no help with any problems.
I really hope this place carries on as it's the best and a credit to the members and those who run it.

Haven't read through this entire thread, but facebook is fundamentally a different way to communicate than a forum. No easy way to go through back posts or search for topics or user posts, etc. Independent of the fact that a bunch of users here wouldn't use facebook in any case, it is suboptimal...
Setting up a new forum, as indicated by several here, isn't a huge lift. If we had the domain name, we'd be all set. Since we don't, the main issue is getting the word out to members who aren't frequent contributors where to move over to. That'd be the same whether we moved to facebook or a new forum.

Something quick and dirty im working on as a proof of concept.
![]() Another user pointed me at this tool and its coming together pretty easily. If it were warranted, i could make it much more robust. |
