There are threads here on the subject just do a search. Me, I average changing oil about every 6 months so I quit worrying about the price, about the same as a couple of gas stops.

I get the Honda filter since I change it about once a year. I know the Honda unit is good (oil filters can be worse than oil threads) and it's simply not worth it to me to take the chance.
cheap oil you can just change more often and still be good. But if you don't know your filter is cheaply made........ nasty business.

$12.50 is not bad from a dealer. I bought exactly one oil filter from the dealer for my CB11. At $20 I had some sticker shock. I realized that the CB11 filter was the same that my CB750 used, and I already bought those in bulk on the internet for about $10 each shipped. For me that was half the dealer's price, but for you it might not be worth it unless you plan to buy a lot of them. When running low I typically put the part number into a search engine to see who has the best deal, then order a dozen at a time.

XG6607 I believe was what I used.

Thanks to a tip from The ferret, I just re-stocked from http://motorcycleoilfiltersonline.com/ho...kn303.html
I was flat out of filters, which is NOT the way to be, especially since I love ability to squeeze in a quick oil change whenever it fits in my schedule. On the CB1100, it's so darn quick to do an oil and filter change. Anywhoo... I noticed the shipping is a flat 12 clams, no matter how many 3-packs of oil filters you buy, so I just threw 3, then a fourth, into the online cart, so I have 12 Honda OEM filters on the way to me for $112. That's $9.33 a filter to my door and I'm sure not to run out for a while. I have been charged over $30 Australian for a honda oil filter for my bike, so if you do the conversión getting charged $12 in the states is not that much to me, after all how many times do most people cange the oil and filter per year. Compared to registration and insurance is not much.
I like to support the local bike shop, I now buy the Honda oil, filter and gasket for about $40 delivered to my door. Regards

Same filter for my ST and the CB. I change oil 5 times a year between them ( about 25,000 miles of riding) so it pays for me to order them in bulk.
