Wish I could hear it.

I tried to record the sound but of course it is impossible to appreciate the sound without a "control-recording" to compare it against (which I did not make, of course...Dodgy). Anyway, it may give you a impression.

No, I just disconnected the OEM exhaust, and then bolted on the new one. The bike seems to run VERY nicely.

Any tips for the job? Gaskets, bolt nuts, or any other parts needed? I think I will be wrapping the pipes on mine prior to install

The exhaust came with all the bolts, buts, washers, springs, etc included. The installation is quite straightforward. As I wrote above, the English translated installation guide was (in my case) a very concise summary of the elaborate Japanese version, but you can figure it out by combining the English text with the pics on the Japanese manual. Don't forget to make or buy the O2-sensor remover.

Yes, and it is not so clear how much of this cement you should use. I opted for a "thin" layer. As it turns out you don't have much options as the headers , the midpipe and the muffler fit very snugly, so only a very thin layer of cement can be used.

I'm actually buying a take-off exhaust, hence the question... But i guess it shouldn't be rocket science to figure out after all Biker

It is more like a "racket science" with your new exhaust. The Moriwaki exhaust are all very well made and fit perfectly.

I assume you installed an O2 sensor eliminator?

No. I don't even know what that is.

I just bolted the OEM O2 sensor into the opening on the new Moriwaki that is meant for it. In fact in my case there are 2 O2-openings: in the left midpipe and in the right midpipe. Moriwaki provides 1 'plug' to close off one of the openings in case you need only 1.

Like I wrote, the bike runs beautifully, so I (naively?) assume all is well. Smile

I bought the kit at Samurider (see [url=https://www.samurider.com/?p=6547]this link): excellent service!! The English instructions were minimal but, together with the diagrams on the extensive Japanese manual, just enough to figure it all out.

Advantages:
- it looks much better - at least that is what I think. Others may [and will] disagree.
- it sounds better - no question about it. Only a little louder but much more grunt & bark.
- in theory the bike is better balanced with the same amount of weight on each side. In practice, I doubt if that is noticeable.

MAJOR disadvantage:
- I had to remove the center stand. I can live with that.

All in all, I am very happy!! Celebrate

P.S. I want to thank Houtman for his post on how to make a home-made O2-sensor removal tool: [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1779&highlight=tool]here.

But wouldn't it then be much easier to trade your CB1100 for a different model?

Hahaha, you got me there!! Thumbs Up

(and my apologies if I have upset anybody in any way. That was certainly not my intention at all. The discussion about the pros and cons of bike customization interests me but I realise now that this is sensitive.)
