I never knew this about my CB1100

This goes back to a post I made a while back. People, for whatever reason, that know very little about motorcycles, always want to talk as if they do. I can't for the life of me figure out why. It just airs their ignorance. Would your friend talk to a dam engineer about fluid dynamics? Probably not. So what is it about motorcycles that brings this behavior out? One of life's great mysteries I suppose.

I think the difference there is that a lot of folks have owned a motorcycle sometime during their lifetime, I've never met anyone that owned a dam.

I believe the Bheezy remembers I once said I am a Civil Engineer who specializes in dam safety engineering. The point is: do not tell me because any dam has survived different flood events for 75 years makes it “safe”. If the dam has not been upgraded to modern day engineering standards, there are good possibilities that I can find deficiencies in that same dam, (spillway capacity, uncontrolled seepage, etc.). This is similar to the person who knows nothing about modern motorcycle technology and tells me my CB1100’s useful life will be over by 10,000 miles.
