Looks like you did pretty good with the ‘14 Standard. Just ride it and enjoy! As our esteemed moderator, Cormanus, suggests, why don’t you drop in the New Members section and introduce yourself.

Well, they stopped importing the DLX three years ago. I'm not convinced they've achieved cult status yet. They may never achieve it. Or, they could become this decade's GB500 or W650: Only imported in limited numbers, not a great seller, but now relatively desirable due to styling and nostalgia.
My CB50R was only imported as a 2004 model and only 300 were brought to the U.S. Like the CB1100, it was a nod to Honda heritage and did not appeal to the mainstream market. Very few have heard of the bike, let alone seen one. If mine were for sale, I'd be fortunate to get half of what I paid for it. And it's stil brand new, never started, gassed up, or even sat on.

The thing is, the 2014 Deluxe is the ONLY CB1100 with an all silver crankcase.

I certainly never heard of it...

I don't have the stock pipes, or I would put it back to stock. Again, thanks for the opinions and responses. Dont know if this will help or hurt. I just bought a new leftover 2014 standard for 5,999.00

Unfortunately yes, slightly over priced. I would look at a new Standard for less money regardless of the modifications to a very nice used bike that was a little more money.

I've seen DLX's listed on craigslist previously at prices that I thought seemed reasonable, yet they were re-listed time and again as no one was biting apparently. If your DLX has been sitting unsold for a quite a while then you already have your answer as to whether or not it is overpriced.
My take: Demand for the CB1100 overall is fairly low and the DLX is no different. I chalk this up to this being a fairly niche motorcycle overall. This forum can sometimes be misleading as we tend to be very enthusiastic about these machines. Many here think very highly of the DLX models in particular and therefore those members own one. My sense is that even though Honda released very few DLX models here in the States, the demand was pretty much met. Most of those who wanted one bought one when they were available new. Most of the others whose plan was to buy one on the used market have also managed to find one by now. I think that the DLX has more of an appeal to the older CB1100 fans and sadly that is a demographic that is in decline. In addition, in most cases the best way to maximize your return on aftermarket parts is to sell them separately. They tend to add very little value to the motorcycle — generally just a small fraction of their original cost. Sadly they often tend to alienate as many buyers as they attract. Leaving them on the motorcycle is a bit of a double-whammy if you don't have the stock parts to include in the sale for the buyer to put back on the bike should they prefer to do so.

Well another Deluxe came on the market today -- for only $6500! Someone is going to get a great deal! It seems like I've seen this bike before -- does a forum member own it?
