Perfect CB1100 for me Has the following....
#1
I love the looks of the Black 2014 CB1100, as I love the alloy 5? spoke alloy wheels, the seat, 6-speed, Four into one exhaust, and, well, it is Black! I just wished it also had ABS, which is Mandatory for me. So that rules out a 2013 DlX, as a 6 speed is also mandatory. A 2017 Deluxe has ABS, 6 speed, and a LED headlight (which I don't think is on the 2014's?), but it also has the spoked classic wheels and 2x2 exhaust as original equipment, neither of which I like. If I go the 2017 Deluxe CB1100 route, I would then choose to procure the alloy wheels and either the factory 2014 Four into One Exhaust setup or maybe a Yoshi pipe. Not a very inexpensive route. Questions: 1) will the alloy 2014 5 spoke (ten actual spokes, but they look like 5 twin spokes to me) work with the ABS brake setup, disks, etc. on the 2017? 2) did the 2014 have an LED headlight? And, finally, 3) what is the best way for me to get an ABS, 6 speed, four into one factory exhaust, and spoked wheels equipped CB1100? I can live with red of course, which looks infinitely easier given my preferences, it is just that I prefer black. I can also live without an LED headlight, as that is rather minor. I could always address that with a different bulb in all likelihood.

Many
Thanks!

I think the bike you want only exists in Canada. Both the '14 (Spencer Pearl Blue) and '16 (checkerboard black) are 6 speeds, ABS, 4-2 pipe and alloy wheels.

I think you have some of the U.S. models / years confused. Regardless, for #3, your best bet is to either find a 2013 ABS and live with the 5-speed (no big deal), find a 2014 DLX and replace the exhaust, or find a 2017 EX and replace both the exhaust and the wheels. In all cases, the bikes are red, not black. The combination of features you specified isn't stock on any one specific U.S. model. Only the 2017 EX has LED lighting.

Oops, I meant 4-1 pipe.

Live without the abs and have everything else in a 14 standard plus a great price to boot. ABS is overrated.

Thanks! I thought I had the models straight, but the 2014 DLX is an excellent idea and replace the exhaust....i see very very few of the 2014 deluxe bikes though, so I had really forgotten about that option. Thank you again. I will look for a 2014 DLX or, do the 2017 EX and replace exhaust and wheels. Do you know if the standard 2014 alloy wheels are a direct swap with the 2017 Deluxe?

Always an option, It just sounds so much safer on the street to have ABS. I have been mostly a dirt bike rider to this point, and will not be taking long trips or anything, so maybe considering a 2014 standard is a viable option. It certainly is the MOST cost effective!

Thanks!

2014 wheels will not fit 2017 or the other way around . Can be done but need many more parts than just the wheels.

Above statement is 100% correct.
Think, analyze & calculate before any job/mod.
Good luck

Could not agree more. This past Sunday l rode with 2 very experienced BMW club racers on some twisty back roads and they could not shake me. My 2014 bone stock standard handles like a dream. Did not even think about needing ABS while riding at 9/10's of my ability.

I think there is probably more than one 2014 Std owner out there who would be more than willing to swap his black wheels and all the spacers, etc. for your wire wheel setup.
