Luggage Racks
#1

Here is a clarification of OEM Honda luggage racks so it is all in one place, more or less, so it can be easily found by search.  This applies to US models/availability.  In addition, there were low racks that just cleared the taillights, and higher ones that were seat height.  There were also racks with round crossbars and tabs for mounting top boxes, and later with flat tubular crossbars with holes in them.

08L70-MGC-D30 was for the original 2013 models, and superceded to 08L70-MGC-A40.

08L70-MGC-A40 fit the 2013 models AND both 2014 standard and DLX models.   It included 2 brackets and bolts that adapted the rack to the DLX.  These brackets were never available separately from Honda, and there were no numbers for them.  It will NOT fit 2017 models.  Here is a pic showing differences.

08L70-MGC-N40 fits the 2017EX models, (and should fit RS models, which were not sold in the US).  It will NOT fit earlier models - the spacing is different between the front and rear mounts, as well as the width of both.

Great post, as always, pekingeuck. For anyone who acquires a rack, here is how I went about installing it. Happy Hunting. David

Hey, speaking of luggage racks, someone has been listing this Givi for quite some time near my place. If it's of any huge interest to anyone here, and the seller won't ship, I might be able to help.

You know what? I actually would like a pickle.

Sorry for the delay on photos, I am working a project currently for IT and have been working like crazy. I took these pics the same day you asked but havent had time to post till now. I have 2014 CB1100 Deluxe with tons of goodies. Its in commuter mode rn, I commute daily 80 miles round trip and it has treated me amazing besides 2 flats (broken valve stem; twice different tires) and one dead battery (left heated grips on w/o a ignition trigger; since resolved w/ thunderbox).

Great motorcycle! Hope the IT Project wraps up soon so you can take advantage of the great riding opportunities in Eastvale. David

If you one has to commute 80 miles daily, that's the way to go!

Not sure why, but the photos are not showing in your post - can you post again and also show the link in Amazon for your rack?  I also have a 2014 DLX and trying to find one to fit.

Thank You !
