First of all, I would like to give a huge thank you to all of you that have made this new forum happen. Although I have never been very active in the “old” forum, I continued to read it regularly and always thought that the CB1100 is so deserving of a proper forum to keep the bike alive.
I still have my CB1100 EX 2014 and ride it regularly. However, having a second bike, I tend to only take out the CB when the weather is good, I guess in an effort to ensure that it remains as pristine as possible.
Each time I ride it, I am always amazed at what a wonderful bike it is. My mind is filled with thoughts of the perfection of it, and I am thankful to Honda for having made it. It just feels so perfect, and yes every time I ride it, I fall in love with it all over again!
When I first bought it, it was simply because of the huge smile I got on my face after testing it. Clearly it is not the most practical bike, and it is certainly not the fastest or best handling bike, but it just feels right. 11 years later, I still get that same smile each time I ride it.

Every so often I start thinking it's time to move on... Then I ride it and wonder what in the heck was I thinking! She's a keeper!

I don't ride my CB much anymore. Just on perfect bluebird days. It has about 77,000 miles on it, I think. But every time I do ride it, I'm reminded of what a truly great motorcycle it is. So enjoyable to ride!
It doesn't matter what I ride, how far or how fast, only that I ride .... every day

Is that coming from anxiety over the high mileage? Perhaps you don't want to wear it out? Just curious. I would think you would be trying to rack up as many smiles as possible.

Yea I'm just trying to keep the mileage down on it. I'll ride it more as summer and better weather takes over, and I'll take it to the rally this year. I hope to put 100K on it, but it doesn't take me long at 20K a year to rack up mileage lol. I'm already close to 6,000 miles so far this year and many consider this the start of riding season.

I really only ride mine when it is good weather. It has become sort of like my special treat to go for a ride on the Honda. Normal riding duty is done on my Scrambler 1200 XC.

I own five motorcycles that are registered, and insured for street use, although I probably shouldn't count the Honda XR650L as a street bike. My 2014 CB1100 is always my first choice for running errands because I can use the removable trunk for carrying things. My wife probably enjoys it the most because of the trunk, and we probably get out on it once a month for Sunday afternoon rides, usually racking up anywhere from 100 to 200 miles at a time. I only have 37,000 miles on it, and I don't plan to ever sell it, although I don't know who I am going to leave it to in my will because we don't have any kids, and none of our nephews ride. Maybe the auto museum in San Diego (they have a pretty nice motorcycle section)? I've already named this museum to receive my 1977 Yamaha RD400.

This is my second CB1100. I kicked myself after selling the first one. This is the 2017 variant and will never be sold. I will happily pass it along one day to one of my sons.
