Freeze Out clothing at Cycle Gear review
#21
Supposed to. Works mostly by wicking away moisture. I wear it under T shirt in the summer (and a mesh riding jacket). I use the Helmet liner too. Keeps my helmet nice if nothing else.

“HEAT-OUT garments incorporate the latest technology to provide heat control, perspiration management and maximum flexibility to ensure a comfortable fit”. “With Anti-Bacterial technology...moisture wicking properties...” etc, etc.

well I'll be. I wear C9 tops and shorts under my riding gear in summer. Moisture wicking and ultra light weight, and on trips it's motel sink washable and dryable by hanging over night.

Went ahead and picked up the long johns yesterday. Fit and finish is much better than I was expecting. Dunno what reviewers were talking about with regards to the low rise plumbers crack issue. Tested them out on my ride home from work with just a pair of jeans. Mid 40s and windy, I wasn’t toasty warm but wasn’t cold. That’s 10 degrees cooler than I would normally ever ride FWIW.
Oh yeah, they were a whopping 15 bucks too. Big spender lol.

Ferret, I have the same set up as you. When it is under 40, I put my Freeze Out gear on and it works great. Especially the balaclava. For the price, you can't beat this gear.

Enjoyed the visit with my dad at his assisted living facility in Simi Valley, CA.

He has a kidney shot each Tue and that tires him out, but we played several games of RummiKube and he won most! His body is declining, but his mind is still sharp at 91.

Tad cool going through Mountain Pass, Monday morning, about 38 F.
I can't say I was comfortable, but neither was I particularly uncomfortable.

Freeze-Out thermals from Cycle Gear work well, as well as heavy Merino wool hiking socks from REI.

My lightly lined deerskin gloves are marginal for cooler weather.

This morning, leaving just after sunrise, it was cooler and overcast skies blocked the feel of the sun. The rest area along highway 58 near Boron, CA has hot air hand dryers and it was welcome!

711.3 miles Mon-Wed.
Trip computer shows 47.2 MPG (actual 47.42 MPG) on a total of 15.0 gallons. Median speed close to 80 MPH (going with the flow, for the most part).

5583 miles on the CB1100.

After getting home, it was good to be active, so I lubed the chain (785 miles since last service on 27 Feb). Got 7 services from one can of Dupont Chain Saver.

Wow 91, that's amazing. Good for him.

Thin deerskin gloves imo are good down to about 50.

My mileage drops into the 40's when I run over 70 mph, which is usually on trips.

Good to see you racking up the miles on that great bike

Wore my Freeze Out Gear again today. It was 37 degrees out but I was on the ST with good wind protection.

I've had my freeze out stuff for several years - no wear or seam failure problems. Fit is loose on me (I'm a wee bit lanky).

I've worn my Freeze Out gear quite a bit this past week or so, as our temps have been in the 30's and 40's. Funny thing about the top. It insulates so well, it makes my heated jacket liner less effective. ie: I can't feel the heat put out by the heated jacket liner as well. How ironic is that? If I want to feel the feet of the heated gear, I have to wear less effective under gear lol. Weird.
