Son texted me they just opened a new Cycle Gear store about an hour from us in Centerville, Ohio. We plan on running up Saturday morning. I used to get catalogs from them years ago, but I never bought anything and they quit coming in the mail.
Anyhow not real familiar with the Cycle Gear stores or their products. Any of you guys buy from them or have any advice with regards to their product lines?

Most of their gear is pretty cheap, but they do carry higher quality stuff but sometimes they have to order it for you. The store by us is crammed with so much stuff that’s hard to move around. It’s nice to be able to try something in before you buy it, though.
Overall, it’s a mixed bag to me.

Stopped by the CycleGear in Austin when we were on vacation a few years back. Seemed okay but small and overall not very memorable. Maybe they're different city to city. Sounds like a good reason for a trip!
Being in Central Ohio makes a person a little spoiled with Iron Pony being so close by. That place is a motorcycling orgy - a two story warehouse with almost every bike brand sold and tons of gear and parts. Very fun to browse, buy a thing or two and then just people watch. You'll see a lot of cool bikes parked outside - saw a Motus in the wild for the first time there.

A lot of lower quality stuff at Cycle Gear , Iron Pony is the best shop !

I've been to Iron Pony several times. LIke a Walmart superstore for motorcycle gear. It's fun to try on every make of helmet. I rarely buy anything there though. I think I get over whelmed by selection lol.

been getting their catalogs about 6 months now as we have a new store here. generally it just goes in the trash as there is nothing i need and buy most things off Ebay anyway , shipped to my home for free and no tax

One more thing...I don't know how this is all playing out, but Revzilla is owned by the same company that owns Cycle Gear. One thing I have heard is that you can get almost anything Revzilla has through Cycle Gear, but keep in mind that I have no proof of this.

I bought some semi-soft saddlebags on sale from Cycle Gear. They fit the CB well. Although I have not bought any since my initial purchase, I get an e-mail from them every morning offering a sale on something. The e-mail is a great way of knowing my e-mail is still working.
I use to buy from RevZilla and found their prices and service excellent. However lately their prices are no longer competitive. Having to add 30% for currency exchange does not help any either.

I purchased a pair of boots and a helmet from Cycle Gear (separate online orders) and found their service to be excellent.
The delivery was so fast I can only assume that they have a dirty customs agent in their pocket.

We visit the Nashville (Rivergate) fairly frequently, we've bought a few things. Latest acquisition was the Dual Sena 20S. We got them in store, they also did installation, as well as extended warranty. Any problems for two years, we just take' em back to the store. They have a decent selection or helmets, apparel, parts and accessories. The staff are all riders. Pretty low key, glad to help with advice, but not sales pushy. Cycle Gear is alright in my book.
