My new heated gear

I used mine this morning at 36 degrees and raining. The Oxford grips inside the handlebar muffs were actually too warm at 30% ( the lowest setting)

Yeah...
The control module has two independent circuits.
The red knob with red indicator controls the liner, unlike the black one with green led manages the gloves. These can be switched for ones liking, if desired.

Temporary, I keep the controller in my jacket's pocket, yes it requires stopping to change the setting.
Testing and thinking of a perfect solution with two options so far:
* permanently installing the controller at the handlebar. This requires buying a 2-foot extension und run it under the tank, however this option would not allow having the heated gear when switching bikes, unless I duplicate extension installation on my DLX
* transferable location above my L knee
This requires a 2-inch wide Velcro strap with riveted a small leather strap to clip on the controller. No extension needed, very quick transfer , very handy and visible location. I think, I'll stick with this option

Then the gear could be also be used for winter outdoor activities like ice-fishing, and similar Canadian past-times requiring some source of heat - especially if on the move. You might need to carry a 12V power source though.

Yes, I regularly walk my dog in the winter with my heated vest which has an optional small battery. Without the wind chill a low setting is good enough to get the benefit.

Just got in from a 42 mile ride. Had the heated grips (inside handlebar muffs) on 30% and the heated jacket liner at about 60%. Was plenty warm. Great ride.

Sounds ideal Tev - good multi-use of motorcycle riding gear, especially during an "off season".

Next update:

On my white std, I clocked 70km/45 miles at 4C/39F, wind 21km/13 miles, 50/50 cloud&sun, travelling speed 100km/62 miles.
The heated liner did a balmy job!!, out of 7 setting, I used 4-5-6, without using jacket's liner.
Start loving winter rides

Had to shorten my trip due to cold hands as there is a wiring length and connector location issue with the heated gloves - no comments at this point as I am looking for a resolution with the seller.

For the time being, the heat control panel is mounted as per pic, red for the jacket, black for gloves:



P.S. Just in case I catch some moto flu, I'll need Ferret or GO to do member sitting, as these two are most experienced winter care providers who pushed me into winter riding
