My road
#21
When tar snakes are fresh, they can be quite disconcerting, that's for sure. These are 2 years old, so they are not slippery when it's dry, but it's amazing to me that the bike transmits enough tactile sensation , that you can feel them as they roll under the tires, I mean they can't be 1/16 th of an inch high.

ROFL

Some of us old guys just have a diminished skill set, and an appreciation for expecting the unexpected. Wink

With how much riding you do, "diminished skill set" seems unlikely and "expecting the unexpected" = How to Survive on a Motorcycle 101 Wink

Wise you are, Master Ferret!

Plus he's taking pictures with one hand...trust me as a student of the Ferret School of Mobile Photography, it's hard to maintain speed in a curve and snap off 5 pics at the same time.

Right ho. Fess up. How many pupils of the Ferret School of Mobile Photograpy are there? ES. Me. How many others?

By the way, I find it's impossible in anything other than lightweight gloves. I simply cannot turn my camera on with heavy gloves on. I need a widget to put on one finger so it can sneak into the hole.

I like the look of your road Ferret.

Not having the Talent of Mr. Ferret i have put together with the aid of Google Earth My Road:

This 4 mile stretch of road is know as US RT22 which runs from the Kensico Dam (which is 2 miles from my home) to Armonk NY. One of the favorite runs for sport bikes from around the area, very fast & fun Run.

Run starts here:
Kensico Dam
[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/Ken_zps981f6d9c.jpg.html][Image: 2510604d2c7bf4f9af1103293cca63a9.jpg]

To the circle:
[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/circle_zpsb6548eea.jpg.html][Image: aadb55bf3784068a89b4525970da38f1.jpg]

Then up the shoot to 22N

[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/upto22_zpsbc4bf71e.jpg.html][Image: efbc8e77c1d5d0487af16dbf500df1ff.jpg]

North bound sweeper:

[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/Nsweeper_zps8a5a5f85.jpg.html][Image: e183f57a330d961897a2fa1aa9ead838.jpg]

South bound run is much better. Starts off with a 1/4 mile straight

[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/strsouthbound_zpsddfced56.jpg.html][Image: 6f7ab3e8899abd29b4f0088abb99c805.jpg]

Into a switch back

[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/curve_zpseb736958.jpg.html][Image: 9cc2ea187d18b9b15b1959340dc724c8.jpg]

Then what a call sling shot 1/4 mile uphill rise speeds can reach (fast LOL)

[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/slingshot_zpsc6d113da.jpg.html][Image: 9f725ff048a2eaab3292c50c6a43071a.jpg]

Out of sling shot down hill crossing rye lake bridge

[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/ryelakebridge_zpsfc9b640a.jpg.html][Image: 5a615d01cfa2dafc12c1130aef3c904c.jpg]

Hope the light is green

Through 2 switch backs

[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/sswitch_zps0e52ac4b.jpg.html][Image: ee6a17ad67aba08ec7c94f6ef848cf36.jpg]

Into the last and final very fast sweeper (a favorite)

[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/lastsweeper_zps0b6143e1.jpg.html][Image: be1bb8394e398181aa4ff2ab4b635bf9.jpg]

Down the chute (Choice 1 wheel up or two)

[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/backtocircle_zps80738ac9.jpg.html][Image: e94cec1f656adbe5a357c86dfeeceed1.jpg]

Looking up from the bottom and back down to the circle where you can head right back up the chute Smile

[url=http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/cipolla57/media/downthechute_zps67176692.jpg.html][Image: 0870e9c873d943ddff9fd75a69704af2.jpg]

Its a great run that is very poplar for bikers, lucky to have it so close to home.

Neat post, CIP. Looks like a good road too.

I don't really have 'a road', but if I need reminding what fun it is to own a motorcycle or just want to turn a corner or two, I take [url=https://goo.gl/maps/VTjI0]this 14 km run along a beautiful country road.
