Watching FP4 and boy is the track wet. Just saw Rossi lift the front tire coming out of a turn with stand water on the track. Man is he good!

qualifying was a mess too:

1 MARQUEZ 1'30.189
2 CRUTCHLOW 1'30.981
3 Pol ESPARGARO 1'31.107
4 Aleix ESPARGARO 1'31.673
5 Jack MILLER 1'31.754
6 PETRUCCI 1'32.420
7 Nicky HAYDEN 1'32.944
8 BRADL 1'33.015
9 DOVIZIOSO 1'33.090
10 BARBERA 1'33.914
11 REDDING 1'34.682
12 LORENZO 1'36.840

Marquez was out during the best conditions in Q2. Hayden replacing a injuried Pedrosa. Crutchfield and Lorenzo advanced out of Q2, Rossi and Vinales down in mid pack.

Should be an interesting first few laps.

1 A.M. Ugggg for an old guy like me this is tortuous. Been asleep 4 hours and woke up to watch the race. At least its a beautiful day on Phillip Island today, which should allow back markers Lorenzo and Rossi to work towards the front. Should be interesting.

I should get a DVR lol.

I can't put spoiler alert in the title until the morning when I can get to my PC in the bedroom where the Mrs is sleeping.

Well that was interesting.

Trust Cormanus, Ptero, noroomtomove, and Aussieflyer are enjoying the race and day.

What a day! After the rain and wind of the past two days today must have looked like a postcard picture on the TV. It was still very cold for this time of year but at least it was dry. The racing was good however not up to the usual standard that we've come to expect where a cigarette paper thickness separates the front end of the pack ... well sometimes it does. A shame that Marquez bit the dust but when it happened the crowd got a little excited thinking that it could mean that Rossi had a chance to win. Rossi rode like a demon until there was just no hope 'cos Crutchlow was just way too fast today. As usual the Moto 3 and Moto 2 made good entertainment.

Was great to finally meet the well known characters being Cormanus, Ptero and Noroom in 3D. We shared a beer or two, some good conversation and watched the main event from on top of the turn 12 embankment. I tried to get a photo however my 'selfie' photography skills just weren't up to scratch so we'll just have to stay unidentified a for bit longer ... no loss, us boys won't be winning any beauty competitions! These blokes did some serious riding in all sorts of weather just to get to the track and watch a bike race. I take my hat off to them for their determination and look forward to the next chance we get to catch up ... maybe the WSBK in February.

Yep, and wingless. Came from 15th on the grid to 2nd. Front end feel must have been quite good on his race setup.

Crutchlow had the right combination, chose the right tires and had the bike set up very well, and rode brilliantly. His bike also had only the tiny winglets, like Marquez.

Turn 4 was sure one to catch a guy out. Like Marquez said, he just got in too hot. Bad spot for Miller and Hayden to get together, too.
