Right. That’s 2020, then. An extraordinary year for the Ferret all things considered. A very ordinary year for Cormanus with no riding at all in December.

The streets were mostly dry and I only had to deal with the cold. 69 miles @ 33 degrees on the FJR My data for 2020: 205 out 366 days ridden 9.500km on the CB 5.500km on the REBullet 4.000km on the W800 19.000km total I start 2021 with a New Year's ride. More km will follow, don't havy any plans, how many days or km I will ride in 2021. It will develop day by day. Wisedrum

I realised I can play this game this year, disappointing though the effort is.
I rode 15,447 kms (9,598 miles) on the CB1100. I rode on 68 days of the year. I used 748 litres of fuel at an average of 4.84 litres/100kms. Maybe more frequent shorter days in 2021.

Somebody is reading a great novel, let's say 900 pages, Russian classic author, leather book cover with golden embroidery. He enjoys it ... very much, every moment.
Comes his friend and asks about it, he says it's great. Another man hears that comment and he goes: I read the same book last year, started in May, in the first week in July I read 187 pages and a half, of which 16 on Monday, 19 on Tuesday, drank 6 bottles of wine, and lit 34 candles ... No offense meant, just a little thought ...

RE numeric notation: I have seen numbers expressed this way a few times from European sources. Example: "9.500km". I reckon "9500 km" is equivalent, or "9K500 km", or "9,500 km", or the unreasonable "9.500 kilo-km". So curious - why the decimal?

in Europe the decimal point is a comma, the 3-digits separator (comma for better readability of big numbers) is replaced by a decimal point: in other words 9,500.00 miles is written here as 9.500,00 miles

That's the way it is. You don't have to do the point thing, but if you want to make larger numbers more understandable for some readers, you can do it. Otherwise some will get lost.

Wow nearly 10,000 miles in 68 days .... that's some serious saddle time ... and we get some awesome ride reports out of that!

Well done, Ferret, and everyone else. Riding is such fun for me that doing it anything less than every day is disappointing at some level. On the other hand, riding is a recreational activity for me (I commute by bike often, but it is by choice) so I'm grateful for any time I get to do it.
Here are my final numbers of significance (to me, at least): -Season Start: January 1 -Season End: December 29 -Total Riding Days: 188 -Most Days Ridden in a Month: 25 (July) -Total Months With At Least One Riding Day: 12 (70 consecutive months and counting) -Total Riding Mileage: 15,347 -Number of States Ridden: 11 (Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, New York) -Number of New States Ridden: 0 -Coldest Day: 02/20 9° -Hottest Day: 6/02 & 7/26 93° -Number of Flat Tires: 2 |
