Whew! No shortage of exciting rides in the Ferret Family.
My very first ride was on a Kawasaki KX-80 dirt bike in Guelph, Ontario. It was interesting, until I napped it (wasn't my bike) and didn't think of bikes for another six years.

I guess I've always been fascinated with 2 wheels.
When I was 4, I would push the family bike around the yard as I was too little for this 24 inch bike. I would lean it up against the porch post and sit on it even though I couldn't reach the pedals.
I rode and considered myself a master of bicycles. Learned how to ride backwards sitting on the handle bars.
Built my own 'high' bike by turning one upside down so the pedals were where the seat should be, extended the seat and handle bars up so I was twice as high as normal.
I rode a bicycle 7 miles everyday to deliver papers...dreamed of a Rupp mini bike.
For a middle school science project I mounted a vertical shaft lawn mower over the rear wheel of a bicycle, put a piece of heater hose on the shaft with the intent of the shaft rubbing against the side of that rear tire. I pivoted the motor with one bolt and hooked the other side to a hand brake cable to 'engage' the drive. Took the better part of a year to build. Never got the motor started after that to test my theory.
Then a friend got a Honda 50 mini trail and let me ride it. His dad made us leave it in 3rd gear so it wouldn't take off too fast.
I was hooked....mowed 7 yards/week all summer and bought my own.
Went on to buy a new CB350 @16 and new CB750 @ 19....and the rest as they say is history LOL

After my "Tote Goat" mini, the XR75 was my first real motorcycle. Man, I crashed that bike a lot. Never anything more than bent handlebars. It seemed indestructible.

In ‘71 my high school buddy, who lived across the street, got a new Honda SL100. Around the same time, another HS buddy bought a Honda SL175. We lived in rural Northern NJ, with plenty of dirt riding available. Which was great because none of us were old enough to get a drivers license. So I had to have one... except I went a different route and brought home a slightly used Yamaha CT 175. No one in my family rides.... my daughter rode for a while, but my other 2 children don’t ride. None of my cousins ride, and only one of those 2 buddy’s (we’re still friends) still rides. And even with him, I’m not sure how much. I rode from ‘71 to ‘78 and then took a 25 year break getting back in in 2003. And I’ve been riding since then. I’ve owned 2 Yamaha’s, 4 Kawasaki’s, 2 Harley’s and 2 Honda’s. And out of those 10 bikes, I still own 4 of them. I hope to be riding for many years to come.

there were actual flames! I was riding on an old golf course that was destroyed by a tornado. it was an amazing dirt track! I crashed in some brush and was thrown from the bike. I looked back and saw flames! that's all I remember. don't recall how it was extinguished or anything like that. but I wasn't hurt. I know that much.

When people ask, just show them pictorially.

Whew! Heh, well maybe some days were like that, but otherwise generally not that extreme.
