2035 seems like a magic number. Supposedly California is going to be selling only zero-emission vehicles by 2035. That's a heck of a lot of infrastructure that has to be put in place in 14 years to make any of it happen on a mass scale. A lot can happen in 14 years, and as far as motorcycles go, if they are priced at the equivalent of what a gas bike will be going for by then, with comperable range and power, and electricity doesn't cost more than gasoline, and we haven't been wiped out by a meteor, and I haven't been killed by falling off of a ladder, and my bladder will allow me to sit on a motorcycle for more than ten minutes, and we can still lane split in California, and China hasn't blown us up, and zombies aren't real.... I'll be ok with it.

Didn't somebody post in another thread that the EU proposed a ban on all gasoline engines by 2035 also? I wonder if Kawasaki is just lining up with that number so as to be among the first on the bandwagon.

Is far as I recall, no new car production with gasoline engine as of 2035 in EU.

My personal view is that electric cars/bikes only will be decades away : many parts of the world do not even produce enough electricity to keep the lights on in their Country.
