Molotov cocktail will take care of his bike forever, and might as well of its rough rider Undecided

I've never considered locking my bike. Then again, I've never taken it to LA, NYC, London, or Madrid.

Lexington, KY is sooooo much calmer than other larger cities and urban regions. Continue to enjoy Stich!

KY appears to be a rider's country.

I have a disc lock that I inherited when I bought a BMW K1300GT. The seller had forgotten about the lock and tried to ride off, dropping the bike and getting large, ugly scrapes on the bags and breaking the very expensive plastic body panel. Makes a nice paper-weight.

My excuses for never buying or using a separate lock ? if it was light it's useless, and a heavy one I don't like to carry around, or have it dangling from the luggage rack. Where on earth can anybody stash away a heavy, tough, serious locking lock which really secures the bike. What I do "carry" is insurance against vandalism (much cheaper than all-risk).

Are you serious ? Can you elaborate a little ?

Lame copy and paste explanation, but hey, it works.

Hi fellow CB1100 riders.

After reading through this thread and another similar regarding U-Lock I clearly understand that 08M53-MFL-800 has been suspended. I have looked all around but am unable to find one or an alternative for my CB1100 EX 2016.

I have as well looked for 08M53EWM000E without any success.

I bought 08M53EWM000D from Japan.Webike.Net, which does not fit (08M53EWM000E will) and I'll have it in my top-box for the time being, but I´m eager to have one under me seat.

Have you any idea if, and then where, I can find one ore alternative? There must be at least one around I can grab.

Rgds, Olafur.

In my 50-some years of riding, I've only locked a bike two or three times, and I lived in SoCal for most of those years. I did have a cable lock to secure the helmet and jacket to the bike, tho, but only used it when stopped in unfamiliar places to keep the odd angsty teenager from messing with it.

Thank you Charlie Bravo for your input. The main reason for the U-Lock purchase is I have planned a two weeks road trip on my CB1100 next summer. I think it´s better to be safe than sorry and use all available options for protection.
