Sorry to hear that, LouA. Are you moving on to something else?

No,Cormanus, at 70 I've seen the increase in cars, etc. on the roads over the years(decades!) and it's gotten to the point where I guess I have to say that "I feared for my life", if I can use that quote. I know my reflexes are still sharp but it seems like I'm having to avoid calls too close for comfort too often. Getting to the nice roads has become a chore most of the time and I'm not one to drone on down the hi-way. Anyway,I thought I'd put it out there and see what happens. Ride safe.

Good luck in selling your bike and yes it seems to get more and more dangerous on the road.
On Saturday afternoon I was going east on I 40 at 70mph , just coming out of the gorge towards Marion and a van had completely stopped in the middle lane. Luckily I could move over in time but in lesser clear weather it could have been a disaster.

Sorry LouA to hear that possibly this journey is over. May you find another that enlightens you well.
( ... like a brand new bike!)

Thanks for the reply, LouA. I understand. I'm a bit younger than you, but I'm finding the business of getting past the cars and out of the city is increasingly painful. I think many of us older blokes do very well, but we also have to face that our reflexes and ability to deal with the aggravation of heavy traffic are gradually fading. If it's no longer fun, it's time to hang up the helmet. I hope you get to hang on to the bike a little longer and ride it a bit more. If not, best wishes for the next adventure. Drop in and tell us about it.

Drop in and tell us about it. Part of my motivation for adopting a lower power stable mate for the CB1100 stable was in large part of the same issue described here. I get a spectrum of ride options, but the mule provides a margin of flexibility and economy for routine days. It doesn't solve negligent drivers - by no means.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. I only ever signed up for a few bike forums but I must say this one is the best. And we all know what makes it the best....the folks in the forum. Should the bike sell,I will still hang around to see how all are doing.

Im a year younger than you. Traffic issues are not bothering me, but little niggling medical stuff is. Either one is a bummer for a true rider.
Best of luck Lou with the sale and with life going forward.
