About 1C (~34F) and my unheated Triumph jacket was too warm Undecided. I should have just wore a t-shirt underneath. Nevertheless, here are a couple challenge pics:

There were no civil war veterans to discuss here, however, I did - by luck - come across this old WWII soldier today:

Later in the day I actually had a chance to get a really good side shot with the WWII air force sign in clear view during a low altitude bank, but I was just dismounting the CB and could not get the camera ready in time. It was a glorious view and rumble of the bomber's engines.

Thanks Cormanus. The images were there once upon a time. Hmmm. This time I removed the center formatting of the images. Maybe it will be persistent this time around.

Wow. That video is cool! Not something you see every day when looking into the sky. That Lancaster was just flying around today for no special occasion?

Thank you Frulk.

During the warm seasons (spring, summer, and fall), the Lancaster bomber (one of two flying in the world today) out of Hamilton, Ontario does tours over the Greater Toronto region on the north shore of Lake Ontario on Saturdays and Sundays.

This Lancaster bomber does do air shows in the U.S. and, in particular, England. Many of the Lancaster bombers were made in Toronto, Ontario during WWII.

Learned something just now. Those WW2 bombers still flying these days are worth their weight in gold.

Yes, that sounds about right. One of two antiques still flying, and who knows for how much longer. Pretty rare experience, but more realistically, the fuel and insurance costs are probably quite high.

Was twice in that museum a good decade ago with my son. Most of the aviation mechanics were in their late 60-ies, but their eyes expressed great spirit and enjoyment working on these old planes...and speaking with them was endless...
