Interesting story about the Lubbock building. How they repaired a twisted building is way beyond my feeble mind Smile Smile Smile

ferret, your town looks so much like many of the small main-street towns here that we visit and ride through every year Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
It's been a crazy winter here with loads of rain and unusually mild temps. Winter sure isn't what it used to be, but I'm not really complaining. We don't miss the brutally cold temps that are more normal for this time of year - and spring is drawing ever closer so it's not all bad

Couldn't say for sure but I think the twist is still there. Twisted buildings are popular these days, maybe it was just ahead of its time ...

River is up pretty high, this is next to the wall lining the main road. normally the river is about 30 feet down from here. BTW during the '37 flood, the water was into the second story windows in these buildings.
During my son's senior year in HS it flooded so bad that they moved the Police, Fire, Post Office and Pharmacy into the High School gym. The High School is up on a hill about a mile from these pics.

Both ends of the main road in town look like this

and Sea I rode down to the little park by Grant's house. St Rt 52 was closed right there due to flooding, but I got a pic of the spot where I took your group's picture first time y'all came through. They were standing by the fence in the background

He seems to be enjoying himself.

A last minute entry for February. I stopped at his church which maybe the tallest building in Westtown (Town of Minisink), NY. The only taller structures around here maybe barn silos.

I enjoyed two great afternoons of riding (temperatures 55 to 58F degrees).

So . . . has someone come up with a photo challenge for March?

Users will then post photos meeting the requirement in this thread for our ogling pleasure. The first user to submit a qualifying photo chooses the backdrop for the following month's challenge.

The goal: To encourage users to get out and ride and to document those rides with photos and, most of all, to have a little fun with the whole process.

The Rules:
1. The CB1100 must be the featured bike in the photo. Caption the photo with the date and the location.
2. Feel free to alter your photo to make it look better, but don't cut and paste into another photo just to qualify.
3. The photos should be new photos, not something you had on file and especially not something you posted elsewhere in this forum.
4. You may post multiple qualifying pictures in a month, but the background has to be different (ex. you can post two pictures of your bike in front of a train station, but they have to show two different stations)
5. Not really a rule, but don't stop trying to get a picture for a particular month just because someone beat you to the first post for that month. We want to see lots of pictures.
6. The same user cannot pick the photo subject on consecutive months. If the first photo comes from the same user that posted the first photo in the prior month, the second user posting a photo will get to pick the next background subject.

Truly, 6 rules are probably 5 too many. Just go with the spirit of this challenge and get out and ride your motorcycle!
January Challenge (from EmptySea):

Let's see your CB1100 in front of a statue. Ready? Go!

Nice way to end the month. You remind us why riding in New England is so special.

So true Inhouse Bob. The New England States and Upstate New York offers great riding opportunities.

RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge

Hey folks how about this for the March challenge ...
A picture of your CB 1100 in front of the most industrial backdrop you can find. Something that contrasts the elegance of the CB against the raw look of a factory or a building construction site or a quarry or junk yard etc.
Hopefully something not to hard find but photographically challenginging.

I like this challenge Aussieflyer! Unfortunately it’s raining where I am right now, though I already have a spot in mind. Here’s my late entry to the February challenge though - at The Mariners Church in Newport Beach:
