I've bounced off the limiter at 112 a few times on my '13. Both times I was in 5th. Keep in mind that if you shift into 5th at too low an rpm, you may not be generating enough horses to overcome aerodynamic drag and accelerate to the limiter.

Either 5200 or 5800 rpms...I disremember. Tach needle was at the 12:05 position.

Sixth gear. I had just upshifted from fifth.

Sixth gear. I had just upshifted from fifth. IIRC these bikes are drag limited and can't hit the speed limiter in top gear. On my 2013, I have hit it at the top of third, but 5th would never get me there (at least not without an Area 51 size runway).
Can't tell about the 6th overdrive of the 2014, but concerning the 2013 I'm afraid I have to disagree. My CB easily hits the speed limiter in 5th gear. Speedometer shows 190 km/h btw., GPS is at 180 km/h. Bike still responds very lively at throttle at that speed. in 5th gear just below the limiter.

Have you changed sprocket ratio?

For myself, I have not.

It could have been drag; but it didn't feel like it. It marched right up to 102 and parked there. 5800 on the tach (I checked today when I went out just after posting; 5800 is just past the HIGH NOON on the dial).

I guess anything's possible. But the road didn't change; it just stopped accellerating. At that speed, on a narrow two-lane, I wasn't going to be fooling around a lot with dials and whatnot.

Now the show's over and I'm home in congested, Smokey-heavy Western Montana. Have to wait until next season at the earliest, for a repeat.

My '13 pulls hard until bouncing off the limiter in 4th or 5th at 112-114. It's very noticeable that fuel and/or timing is being cut like hitting a wall

JustPassin.. It seems like you have some doubt now about whether or not you hit the limiter. Mine hits at 112. So my guess is that you didn't hit it. It is pretty much the same feeling as when you hit the rev limiter in any gear. So, try it out in 1st. You will get the feeling without going 112.

I'm not one for looking at gauges at those speeds. Glanced once, saw the 112. Now, I just know that's the speed i'm going. Be careful !
