The roads in the East Canyon area are a bit different, too (no sort of wide open spaces). The valley below doesn't look populated enough, either, and the mountains on the far side aren't right for SLC. I need to look at that one for a bit and think.

I am not an envious one, but I do appreciate the amazing opportunities for beautiful rides that the US has to offer, and I can't wait to come and cruise up and down some of those roads. Ours is a small country, with just 4 proper riding roads, ones that are both technical and scenic enough. I actually moved up to the north of the country to be close to those roads.
Having said that the mountains and filled with nice twisties but they are all gravel and sand roads, that's why we like our dirt and adventure bikes - a pair of knobbies and some longer suspension open up so many options

Sounds like a 2021 Honda Africa Twin beast could fill the need for power, speed and flexibility. It will, however, not have the street looks of the awesome CB1100.

I'm always flirting with the idea of an ADV bike, but I know myself well enough to know that is not going to work out - too lazy to keep pick a big bike up a 100 times, and too curious to take care not to drop it - so I stick to dirt bikes for dirt and CB for the road. And after a nasty day in the trails, I seriously enjoy taking my gear off and sitting in an air-conditioned cage, bike safely on the trailer, driving home in peace

It could be the Nebo Loop Rd [015] which was recently resurfaced, or Hwy 35 between Francis and Tabiona. There are a couple of far horizon views that look similar to the east side of Timpanogos, but it's not quite right. It could also be Hwy 191 between Duchesne and Helper.

I'll need to track this one down. I thought I knew every great 2-lane road around here!

My apologies as I think I confused the roads. The memory isn't as good as it used to be. The wife and I just drove the Alpine Loop last fall (September 26th to be precise) and the visual reference in the video very closely matched what I recalled from that short morning road trip. I looked at my pictures taken at the viewpoints and I believe that road in the video is the road behind my wife in this picture, Summit County 114 that splits East about midway off the Alpine Loop and drops into Summit County. Since I don't have my wife's permission to post her picture I blurred her face. But they had finished repaving that road the week before we were there and there was still a road crew at the bottom finishing up. It was perfectly black and perfectly smooth, just like this video. I suspect they probably filmed it within a few days since the fall colors look almost the same. To the left of the picture you can see the road bend around the closest hillside. I believe it was this road the video was filmed on. Our picture was taken close to the summit. And yes, the road was like butter in my Jeep. I am keenly aware I was driving the wrong vehicle. Smile

I'm not sure why, but this road got stuck in my brain so I went digging a little more and found more information about the road (if anyone cares). It appears that it is actually a Wasatch County road rather than Summit County. From what I found parts of the now completed 2 year project were previously dirt roads that they paved, straightened out corners, added water drainage and added guard rails. The road is part of the Cascade Scenic drive that leads to Cascade Springs near Midway, UT from the Alpine Loop road. I found a project timeline PDF that has more information (again, if anyone really cares).

If it is indeed the same road as the wife and I drove, it would be a superb road to take a spin on a motorcycle. If the smoke here ever clears up, the Utah folks should definitely go give it a try. Apparently the closest bit to the Alpine Loop was just completed at the end of 2020.

There are no scenic roads in Utah. Zip. Zilch. NADA. Pretty sure this was taken somewhere on the little known hilly section of North central Oklahoma.

Or perhaps near the fairly little known highest point in Kansas -- Mt. Sunflower.
