Three Canadian forum members went for a two day ride.... unfortunately, peterbaron chipped off at Parry Sound due to work schedule...

That's a good one Cormanus.

Ultimately we communicated via Bluetooth intercom (Cardo Freecom 2+ and Cardo ScalaRider G9). This came very handy at night in the rain and where there was no evidence of humanity, except the asphalt road.

2021 CB1100 Forum Rally Tribute

What do some CB1100 Forum Rally members do when they are blocked from participating? They travel overnight to a northern forsaken region of Ontario, Canada called "Wawa". French explorers reached the area around 1681 and an outpost established at around 1726. Wawa is located near the NEE corner of Lake Superior, the greatest of the Great Lakes.

Tour Quick Stats:

* Approximate round trip duration: 12 + 12 = 24 hours.
* Approximate round trip distance: 2000 kms (1995 kms, or 1247 miles for GoldOxide).
* Conditions: Approximately 25% rain.

Goal:

Ride the complete Algoma Loop, which passes through Wawa, Ontario.

This was achieved.

Discussions once again came up about buying the Stichill-approved Tutoro auto-chain lubricator. It certainly comes handy on long riding tours.



[url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/member.php?action=profile&uid=3454]PB abandoned us in Parry Sound to leave us to our own vices. We had our work cut out.

Central and northern Ontario has some glorious Canadian Shield rock formations. The following is typical, and not a glorious example:



We saw a small black bear make a dash across Hwy. 69. Surprisingly, we saw very, very few roadkills on the tour. However, the number of road night hazard moose warning signs were infinite, especially within the Algoma Loop.

We made a lunch stop in Sudbury. Sudbury is a major mining city, well known for its nickel. Behind the motorcycle pose in the distance is a giant 1960s monument in the shape of a nickel (and made of nickel) to commemorate the 1951 200th anniversary of the isolation and naming of the element.
