Covid cases in the UAE dropped to 3 digits some time ago, and the government decided to cancel many of the restrictions that were in place for over a year now, one of those was to remove checkpoints at Abu Dhabi border and allow free transit. Obviously we seized the opportunity and rode to a place in the middle of the country called Al Ain, which is home to a very weird rock sticking out of the sand, that is Mount Hafeet. With approximately 4000ft height it's hardly the highest mountain anyone has ever seen, but as it is sticking out surrounded by the desert it's very prominent, and road to the top is an epic 11-ish km (7.3miles), proclaimed one of 10 best driving roads in the world by many publications. And I tend to agree.
For me it was a 500km ride to and fro, one would think a long ride for a 7 mile blast - trust me, it's worth it. And this was the first time I went there with the CB1100, and boy oh boy did I love it! It has got torque for days, pulls uphill so seamlessly without any need for a downshift, and it makes it steady and smooth, a dream really.

You can do that mountain all day, well, more than a couple times at least to get a decent fill. Any sample flicks from the CB1100?

gotta love a ridge runner. those and coastal clif runners. if more roads were like that more drivers would be paying attention lol.

Yup that's how most people do, just go there and ride up and down a bunch of times until they get dizzy, at some point in the day the scared car drivers and tired cyclists become a bit too much. Or like today, it just gets too hot to be fun.

And no flicks unfortunately I made an amateurs mistake and had nowhere to mount the GoPro. I will repeat the run again in the next two months and revisit this thread with the link to a cool video.

Thank you for the pictures. What headlight are you using? The Comet fairing is perfect.
