Cortech Super 2.0 tail bag

Does anyone here use this bag? I just got one and thought I'd ask about your mounting points. (This is the bag with the straps and buckles, not the one with bungee-style mounting.) I've attempted to attach to the passenger foot peg brackets. It works for the front straps, but the rear straps have me stumped. If I mount to the same point as the front straps, I'm concerned that the bag will move forward as I ride, because the passenger pegs are slightly forward of where the bag will sit. If you have this bag, how did you mount it?

On the parts diagram I think they are called garnishes? The silver/grey bars I think is either for passengers to grab hold of or for bungee mounts.
That's where I strap them, I pretty much have to tighten them all the way though.

I'll take a pic and post it when I get a chance.
I really like this bag by the way, it holds plenty of stuff and it is easy to carry and take with me.

Mine is just strapped onto the pax seat, and secured straight down to the luggage rack. It's nice and secure. There are some "ears" that protect the bike from the straps, and some elastic that the buckles can go under. If you don't have a rack, I think you can get the straps around the gray frame below the seat, but that might be a bit of a reach. The current Rider magazine has pictures of a CB1100 with this seat bag. It is hard to tell exactly where the straps go, but they appear to go right to the frame. (The CB1100 is featured on the cover of Rider.) At first I strapped it to the rear of the seat on the rack, thinking I could get the seat off without removing the bag, but that did not fly. Still had to remove the tailbag.

Reno: I really like the bag too. I first had a Kuryakyn tube bag, but did not like it on the CB, so I moved it to the V-Strom to eliminate carrying around those huge aluminum side cases. The Cortech looks great on the CB!

I have a set of these and I did not know that they come with 4 loop straps to attach to the frame. Mine only came with 2 straps. This was the only set the dealer had. I contacted the manufacturer and it took them about a week to get back to me. They said they don't have any straps in stock, check back in 60 to 90 days. Cool.

Then in desperation I researched the buckle on the web and found a supplier of the buckle and the webbing to make my own straps. I should have those materials in few days and can then properly mount the bags.

As far as the bags are concerned they are a good fit for the bike, but not sure you can use them with a passenger as they may interfere with the foot pegs. I would like to see photos of how others have mounted them.

Webike has a nice looking frame that may hold these bags far enough back to allow access to the passenger pegs.

I've mounted mine in various locations without even using the straps (but I have the Honda rack installed on the back of my bike as well). I've simply used the connectors on the bag that are meant to be attached to the straps and connected them to each other instead.

I bought an Ogio bag, the stealth bag I believe they call it. It comes with 4 straps with loops on one end and clasps that secure right to the bag. I took my seat off and put two straps together and ran them over/under the bar going across by the rear brake fluid resevoir. The back I went under the silver bars on the side of the bike. I will try to get a photo if you like. I can't see my straps except for the ones going under the seat. Only a little of them are exposed and the bag is nice and tight. Just hangs off the back of the seat a little the way I have it mounted which takes away from inside storage, but it fits for my uses...

I ended up taking the protective piece off the straps and attached to the gray rails. It's a pretty close attachment point so I have lots of strap left over, but I just crammed the extra up under the bag. When I ordered it, I thought it might be too big but my rainsuit pretty much filled it up (without using the expansion sections).

Along with the protective pieces for the straps, I took off the main protective piece that goes underneath the bag. So far it hasn't damaged the seat or anything else.
Also I used the Velcro on the straps to secure the excess strap.

I almost want to cut the ones on mine off lol.
Looks good the way you have it mounted though, and you don't have to deal with all the excess.

I did cut mine off. They are much too long for our application.

Think about it a while before you do it. Have it set up the way you want it, make sure, then cut them off and melt the ends. You can make them look real nice with no excess as shown in the above pics.

The rear I did somewhat different than shown above. I ended up making one strap out of 2 (needed the male clip) and clipping one side of the bag to the other. The strap is under the rear "tail" of the seat.
