One of my favorite upgrades is the SuperSprox sprocket. These are CNC milled, two-part sprockets with a aluminum center and a hardened steel "tooth" ring. You get the light weight of an aluminum sprocket, and the long wear of a steel one. The parts are so durable they come with a lifetime guarantee if you buy the complete kit.
I've had SuperSprox on two bikes and never wore one out. Plus they really spiff up the rear of the bike!

I asked SuperSprox to manufacture kits for our bikes, and it looks like they will. Their sales rep put a page up on their website where you can post a request for just the rear sprocket, the entire kit, or even various sizes of sprockets beyond the OEM. You don't have to buy anything, just post what you're interested in.

I would hope I wouldn't need a chain/sprockets until 30,000 miles like on my FZ-1. At that time I will probably replace with another oem set. I am at 6200 now so hopefully I wont need any for 2 1/2 more years. Those look like nice sprockets though. The weight savings of aluminum doesn't mean much to someone like me. An all steel sprocket works just fine. The only deviation from oem I might go, is rear brake pads since the Honda Service Rep thinks mine are fine (but I don't.)

Btw 85 views without a comment is not unusual. I find it hard to believe sometimes that people join a forum, and then don't care to participate, but thats the way it goes. I have been on multiple forums and the response rate is very low on all. And just for your info, if you check your thread to re read it or see what someone has responded to it, that adds a view to the total I believe. Look at the Shoei Jcruise in wine color thread over 1000 views, 4 comments. Some of the seat time threads are similar.

The Honda service manager looked at and rode my bike and said the rear brake is good. He did adjust the lever for me, raising it up some. I think they are a little mushy and am going to end up bleeding them myself it looks like.

Yea me too popgun. The District Service Writer for Honda didn't even look at mine and declared it was operator error and that I needed to learn how to use my front brakes. Lol...ok pal..I'll take care of it myself.

I actually upgraded my VStrom's sprockets before it was absolutely necessary just to get the look. I guess it's a personality defect on my part...one I don't mind a bit!

Hey, thats cool. I know guys that have gone with blue sprockets and chains to match their blue bikes. The look of chains and sprockets just never bothered me much. Same with chain guards. I would never buy an after market chain guard, since it comes with one that does the job already. Personality defect on my part I guess. I wouldn't mind having color matched side covers, but i'm not going to spend $250 on a set.... maybe if they were $50? ...maybe. Tough decision...it already has side covers that do the job already lol

Some of the custom bikes folks admire have ALL the covers removed. Battery covers, side covers, sprocket covers, you name it.
