Best Options for Taller Riders

At 6'-1" and 220+ lbs I am having some minor comfort issues related to the CB1100 ergonomics.

Leg or Hip cramping from the close proximity to the pegs and butt numbing from the softly padded stock seat often limits saddle time to no more than 1.5 hours at a time.

I've considered lower pegs, but then you have to deal with shifter and braking adjustment issues.

Have any taller riders any experience with either the Tiros K-Style Seat or any of the K&H High Double Seats (Both types available from Samurider)?
Is the K&H seat quality worth the extra money? (Apparently they can tailor the cushion density to your weight.)

Your comments would be appreciated.

I am almost of the same dimensions as you.
My first impression when I sat on this bike was how low the saddle was. With both feet planted squarely on the ground my bum was at least 2 inches off the seat. This in itself was not a problem, but within 30 minutes of riding my knees were! The other problem was the aforementioned bum was numb after an hour.
I phoned some guys who advertise in the UK motorcycle press who are a couple of hours down the road and whilst I waited they took off the saddle cover and built up the dip at the fore end by about an inch with some special foam they use. 45 minutes later, original cover back on and £50 lighter I was on my way.
The results IMHO look good and have improved the ride ability (for me) by leaps and bounds. Definitely more bum comfort and it is now 2 hours before I have to stretch my legs.
Just another way to go.

I'm just under 6' but I have really short legs for my height. Even still, I have been getting knee strain myself. I'm also a heavyweight and considering a taller seat.

I think a sore butt has been complained about for many riders, regardless of weight or height.
I have very long legs, ( 33/34" inseam) my knees sometimes hit the valve covers!
Although I am skinny, knees have not bothered me too much and seat has felt better after a few thousand miles, a nicer/higher seat would be welcome.

Just had to drop my trousers (pants) to check my inside leg (inseam), and my measurement is identical to yours.
Yes I did get a 'what on earth are you doing' comment! Lol.
Maybe you haven't abused your knees so much in life?
The foam the upholsterers used was sorbothane which I think they use on shot gun butts (?) to absorb recoil. I can say in my case the additional inch of this stuff helped both bum (butt) and knees.

wonder how many guys confuse their true inseam as if being measured for a suit, crotch to ankle bone, vs what size blue jeans they wear. Measured for a suit I have 26 inch inseam, but I wear 36X28 or 36X30 jeans (sometimes the 28's aren't available).

Keep in mind, the rider seat, pegs and bars form a triangle, change 1 and it changes the relationship to the others. put on a taller seat to relieve the knees and the lower back has to bend further to get to the bars

I'm about 6' and had similar issues.
The Tiro KO style seat was a game changer for me. Noticeably taller, and extremely comfortable. Totally changed my riding experience. A MUST-DO mod for any taller rider, in my opinion.

On my 13', I got the K&H High seat and 1" risers from Genmar, and It made a big difference. I tried the lower Buell pegs but when I snagged my foot leaning into a corner, I went back to the stock Pegs. The 14' Deluxe seat is a big improvement over the stock seat on the 13', so I just got the Air Hawk seat pad for long rides. In my opinion, finding the right saddle style will make all the difference.
I forgot to mention that the quality on the K&H High seat is the best. Worth every penny. Like The ferret said, if you get the high seat, I would also get 1" risers to keep the same reach to the bars.

As I say they charged me £50 last summer for the job.

With hindsight I wish I hadn't insisted on keeping the original cover (with Honda on the back) as amongst many other choices he offered me one that looked exactly like that on the 2014EX for the same money I paid

With reference Samurider, I had incredibly good service from our Japanese friend after I spent £415. When the goods arrived in the UK, I then had incredibly good service from HMRC with whom I spent a further £135! Grrrrrrrrrr! To be fair I knew I would be clobbered, but knowing does not often ease the pain. Lol.
