Daytona Cozy, CB500F bars, TRAD2 mirrors
#1

Some pics of recent mods onmy 2014 standard, including the Daytona Cozy 70's Style seat, TRAD2 mirrors, and Moriwaki frame sliders, all from Samurider, plus CB500F bars, Oury grips, and metalmaven's license plate holder.

Thanks to Chip for the clear handlebar instructions. No drilling was needed for my bike. I couldn't do much about the brake line, but I did adjust the clutch line and throttle cables, none of which needed to be replaced (at not least in my eyes--some people may be bothered by the routing, but it's functional).

The Daytona seat is very comfortable. Much firmer than stock and way roomier. I can easily get both feet flat on the ground and I'm a 30" inseam. I haven't been uncomfortable on it, but I also haven't ridden more than an hour at a time on it yet.

Yes, it does look good. And that seat looks as though it would make a pillion feel more secure than the stock.

Cheers

I like how the seat and Oury grips coordinate with the block pattern.

Anybody have any idea if the chrome strips around the base of the seat come off without damaging or ccompromising how securely the seat cover fonts around the outer edges of the seat pan? I think this would look better on my red 2013 without that chrome. By the way, I think the chrome looks great on this black bike.

I'm curious that you said there was no drilling necessary for your bars when you installed them I have the same bars not installed yet and from everything that I've heard even in chips install they have to be drilled for the switches

On the '13s yes, but on the '14s I think they do not need to be. Ferret, what say you? (ferret has/had both years)

Both years switches are pinned and bars drilled and in different places. Sometimes guys will file the pins down so the bars don't need to be drilled, and some factory bars come drilled so it's no issue, but yes both years switches are pinned.

Thanks, it seems like it's held in place with glue or some kind of adhesive. Too hard to tell how easy it would be to get it off, but I'm sure it could be done. The alternative would be to rattle can it.

Thanks, my wife and I have taken a couple trips to the mountains on it and she likes the seat--no complaints.

Could you post any more info about those mirrors? I googled "TRAD2 mirrors" and couldn't find anything about them. Any modifications needed to install?

Edit: Scratch that--found them on Samurider. Those are cheaper than I thought they would be. Are they as good of quality as the stock mirrors?
