I'm in the process of getting this "shorty" reverse cone slip on. Should have it by Friday. The cost is unbelievable on ebay! Only $46 shipped!

As "gcarper" stated, the key to avoiding mounting issues is getting a separate link pipe with an integrated center stand stop bracket welded on it. I removed my stock muffler last night to see what I'm up against.

There is about a 5.5 inch long "curved" link pipe already welded in place to the collector (and cat) for the stock 4:1 headers. Apparently this is not long enough for the 17" long Emgo to reach the existing secondary mounting point for the stock muffler. It needs to be extended with an additional link pipe attached to the end of the OEM link pipe.

I'd "estimate" the extra link pipe extension needs to be about 5 or 6" long, and might be longer as originally supplied from the manufacturer. It can be cut to length with a hack saw to achieve the proper length. JUST BE SURE THE CENTER STAND BRACKET IS STILL WITHIN THE USABLE SECTION, so the Emgo itself can be bolted to the existing secondary mounting point. The Emgo conveniently has an adjustable fastener for this mounting on the back side of the muffler. Thus, the secondary mounting point for THIS slip on does not need to be a precise measurement. Thank God for this included adjustability!

Surprisingly, the stock exhaust muffler weights about 10 lbs, and the Emgo is only about 3 lbs. I'm guessing the extra link pipe (and all associated clamps) adds about 2 lbs, so the net weight savings is ~5 lbs.

Sold the bike because my wife is pregnant and dont want me riding for the time being. I dont know how it is where you are but here in St. Louis the drivers cant drive without staring at a phone and running people off the road.

Not unreasonable. It's an important time for you to be alive. More texters in Australia by the day, but stiff penalties for using mobile phones while driving has some deterrent effect.

I ordered the emgo muffler aslo. I liked the look and sound from various videos I saw. The shorty is actually 15.5 not 17". Although I think it comes in 17 and 19" sizes. The price I paid 55.00 is for the chrome one. The 46.00 one is bare aluminum. I already have a Yoshimora rs3 which already has a center stand bracket so no problems there, will work fine. I also have an extension from the Yoshimora pipe which should also work. If not then I'll either get a new extension pipe or mount the way mgoodie did it. Either way I'm just playing with it being the price was so low figured I would just try something new. I like the yoshimora muffler but it's still so dam big and not quite as loud as I would like, lol.

I will know for sure later this week, but my understanding is the price on ebay (and there are several higher variations) is still in the mid 40 dollar range, and this is for a CHROMED Emgo reverse cone slip on muffler. The manufacturer's part no. 80-84030, which includes pipe clamps and a set of 3 different sizes of pipe clamp coupling reducers. The price on Amazon for same is even cheaper.

Yea, looks like your right. Just saw one for 46 or 48.00 ships from Tennessee. Good find. There are so many variations on ebay. Chromed

Looked back at my order and says 17" not 15.5 that must have been another I looked at. The other one says 17.5 so I guess it will be the same.

I have the longer reverse cone Emgos on a Bonnie, and they are great buys. No problems with them over 5 years now.

Ok, received my muffler today and all I can say is EPIC FAILURE!!! Never listen to someone who says a universal part bolted right on no problem. Couldn't get it to tighten down onto head pupe. Was way too loose and spacers did not work. The clamp is somewhat worthless. Needless to say my yoshimora RS3 is still on my bike right now. This one is going to need some more thinking.

Hmmm . . . sorry to hear! Still waiting for delivery of mine. The OEM extender pipe is 1 5/8" OD. The Emgo inlet ID is 1 3/4", so that's a diameter mismatch of 1/8". The reducers should have taken care of that, but did you reuse the OEM gasket from your original muffler's inlet? That might be necessary to adequately seal the Emgo's inlet and make a tighter clamp connection. What additional link pipe, if any, are you using?
