Back rack with eliminated fender?
#1

Question: I'm loving the look of the eliminated rear fender, and I also like having my Givi rear rack and top case. If I want to eliminate the rear fender, and keep my rear rack, am I going to hide my tail/brake light? ThanksBikerIdea

for me and its only my opinion
if i lost the fender i would learn to ride with a back pack
if you tour or need the storage i would ad a top box and leave the fender
on this bike i ride with a backpack and i have fenders
but most of my bikes have top boxes and i use shad
to answer your question though if you bury the rear light under all that rack and box you may lose the visibility to the people behind you
and the people behind you are already trying to kill you, and they need as little help as possible
for me i like a very visible rear light

Didn't one member cut his fender down and make it a lot shorter? Is that an option?

Thanks! This is my concern. When riding on my own I know that I can find ways to pack some gear without the top case, but for two-up riding I would lose the back rest and that is my main concern here.

I saw that thread. That might work for my purposes but I don't want to not be able to return the bike to stock if needed.

You could see whether another member has a replaced rear fender they no longer want. You've clocked up enough posts to use the Classifieds section.

Anyone got pics of rear racks and saddlebags? In my erm.... ever more advancing years.... i find practical accessories ever more appealing... so long as they fit the overall look and era of the bike

Pics like you want are all over the forum. I put saddlebags in the search engine and a BUNCH of thread come up. Scroll through them for pics. Same with racks. A lot of different ones on the board.
