I am apparently smack dab in the middle of the prime demographic (50's) as I am old enough to remember seeing On Any Sunday in the theatre with my dad, mom, and brothers, riding dirt bikes that were "enduros" with their lights removed, the advent of forward mounted shocks, Marty Smith and Bob Hannah as teenagers, and lots UJMs. The golden age of motorcycling in the 70's and 80's. Although we could certainly make the case that that past decade of bikes and muscle cars have made a case that we are in the midst of another golden age. During the fuel crunch of the early 80's, I thought the days of muscle cars and bikes were over for good. Back then, I also thought that anyone over 30 was old.
We are only as old as we feel!

On any Sunday yes!! Steve McQueen. Marty smith was the fastest at one time. Hurricane Hanna was fast also. Those where the good ole days and honda brought them days back with this CB1100 long live Honda

I am 78 and enjoying my 2013 cb1100. I have other bikes some of which are more powerful, but the CB 1100 does the job for me. I wanted to comment on the MPGs that my bike is getting, riding an average of 60 miles per hour except when passing. I am getting around 80 MPG. How does that compare to others on the forum? my e- maill address is coyotecrk2@aol.com.

WOW! 78? Way to go sir! I'm 32. I have ridden my bike just past 300 miles as of today. Right now I'm averaging 48mpg however, I only live 7 minutes from work and there are a few stop signs. I also haven't really got out on the freeway very much as I'm slowly making my way back into the saddle. I have a few times though but am unable to give a accurate statistic at this time.
