Customising...
#1

Few customised conversions "look right" to me.
They either appear as "bits'n'bobs just tacked on", or "bits missing", or a lot of money spent turning it into another type of motorcycle.

BUT... crucially, they are our expressions of ourselves and what WE want, not the ideas of some Japanese designer of a standard UJM. Freedom in an increasingly less-free world, if you like.

So, whilst I inwardly squirm at some customising attempts, I'm nevertheless really pleased that guys are still having a go and occasionally coming up with something really great.

When Government stops us doing it (via supposed "safety" legislation, etc.) it will be a very sad day. So... be prepared to fight for the right to customise!

Nah! I love a customised 'bike... My BeeEmm is "over-the-top" customised, so I can't criticise!! I hope my post didn't come across badly??
It's just an observation that, despite finding some customising hideous and some superb, it's nevertheless right that we MUST all have the freedom to do it.
This is merely a warning that attempts to prevent us doing it have been discussed in Europe. Sad

"Safety legislation" will be challenged like never before throughout the continued roll-out of self-driving vehicles.

Motorcycle taillight too small, or too low, too dim, or too non-red? Wha' 'bout that self-driving cage that just slammed into the back to that vehicle over there? Regulation are not going to get simpler.

I wouldn’t own something I couldn’t change what I didn’t like about it. I’ve got 4 cars and 3 motorcycles and the only one that isn’t modified in some way is the car I drive to work. I have a 1991 ZR-1 Corvette that when I bought it back in 2007 it had 6000 original miles,by the time it had 8000 miles on the clock it was lowered with a nice set of wheels. The guy that sold me the car wouldn’t drive it because it was too nice, yea, good luck with that.
