That seat really just looks like it belongs on the CB though it doesn't list compatibility with the 2017 model and it's been a year since someone asked that in a comment without being answered, at least publicly. Couldn't commit an order to that yet. That option will get me 0.9 inches and maybe a bit more effectively by buying firmer foam... just a fantastic start. Wish I could just find the seat base and make my own.. the first would SUCK infinitely more than our language would facilitate adequate mocking... the upgrade then would only suck... then... fair... but eventually, Honda would sue for for trade dress infringementSmile Victory! I must have done 5 generations of seat work on my dirt bike. I'll email the K&H guys and see if they can do the 2017 and a little more height as long as they're messing with the foam, but, as I type that I realize... they get their bases someplace too... I hate when my subconscious assumes I'm going to live forever.

I am on the fence about doing the peg adapters myself (have a decent machine shop). I'm sure I can do them for only about $100-200 more than if I just buy them but the feeling of smug superiority when I forget that little detail will make it worth it. Theoretically. What I'm not crazy about is aluminum in the system of stuff that keeps my pegs on should I revert to my super amazing JN-something dirt bike skills (cough) to deal with a surprise road hazard.. but the attachment point is aluminum so mathematically at least not an enormous drop in system strength...

Again, thank you everyone. Ride safe.

ps - I haven't seen any other CB's in Nuuk. I assert that to be a 100% true statementSmile

Here is an example of the K&H Hi seat. They have a few different models too: https://www.samurider.com/?p=22627/#itemImage

Some members have also put some adjustable lower pegs on too. Can’t remember the brands right off hand, but someone will chime in.

I’m an Air Hawk user too. They are for comfort though. If you are using it right it will not raise your seat height very much at all.

Welcome Cone Man.

I had the same complaint with the seat-to-pegs distance. I added about an inch of firm foam to the front half, and built up the sides at the front a bit too.

I wanted to use the original cover so the Honda logo would remain. Because the seat cover did not have enough material at the lower edges by the front to staple in securely, my upholstery guy sewed an additional strip about an inch wide along both bottom edges of the rider portion, and stapled it back on.

Just that 1 inch made a big difference. Not perfect, but I really noticed it when I sat on a friend's CB1100. Total cost well less than $100, and if you don't like it, you can take the foam back out.

That looks really nice--sure beats the way my strapped-on black 1" foam pad looks. Then again mine only cost $10 for pad and straps, but it doesn't look elegant like yours. And less than $100 is a pretty decent price.

That is a pretty good job PD.

I suppose as I get crustier that might be an economical option I would consider.

Since I can tolerate up to 90 minutes, the stock is just bearable, but I also have a cushion to also help on long touring rides. (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-m...m_term=#/)

For one hour or less, the stock seat is currently serving. Dodgy

They always think that at the startSmile

That's very nice workmanship. Did you add this to your original CB1100 seat? I'm confused slightly (why do I even bother to continually inform people around me of this depressingly obvious fact?) about the two seats in the final photo. Would you happen to have any photos of the bottom? Please don't go to any trouble but if you already had one, I'd love to see it. Turns out I bought a $50 nearly industrial sewing machine several years ago on EBay to do some boat canvas work... I mean seal skins for the spring hunt... and I instantly became a magnet for other machines friends no longer wanted.... might be time to pull that out again.

What I recall from stapling my dirt bike last time I did that was the bottom was tough and rejected 5 staples for every one I shot at it. I think I bought a nicer pneumatic job a few years ago but I can't actually recall (I'm ancient). How did that go for you? And as the goal was to keep the Honda logo on the back, let's see it! Maybe post your address too and whether you leave you bike out all night... Smile

Cone Man,
I didn't do the sewing on this, but on some other seat covers, I had the same problem with electric staplers. I had to use the shortest staples, and with the seat plastic pushed firmly against a solid work surface, 4 out of 5 staples would stick in.

Sorry, I don't have pictures of the underside of the seat, and I hesitate to pull it off. I don't trust banks and I store my money under the seat and it's starting to bulge out. I always keep the key handy in the ignition because I can never find it when I just need to run out to the street and jump on the bike to go to the market.
