Technically, early iterations of the CB 750 did not have a grab rail, looking more like what Ninemeisters does.

Almost all the words have been used 9.

A sweet effort, a sweet result. Congratulations!

RE: White House K10 - a story of regeneration

Thank you to everyone for the very kind words, I am really glad that everyone likes the final result.

It was never my intention to court praise. My goal (in posting the thread) was to explain my ideas and show what could be achieved with some well thought out design, a little (ok, a lot of) effort and of course the attention to detail to spot the issues left over from past modification work. As a relative newbie I was a little surprised that there seemed to be a lack of full-on project threads (but maybe that's because the CB11 is still relatively new and very reliable?) so I figured the best way to remedy that was to start one myself. Bazbro's K17 project showed me that there was a lot of interest which in turn encouraged me to do a decent job of photo documenting the build along the way.

I'll carry on with updates as I go along, hopefully including some nice shots from the first real ride-out.

Cheers folks. Beer

And there's me thinking your would never stoop so low to ride a CB1100 with no RLET's fitted.

Anyway, you have noticed PB that it's running the raised K10 seat haven't you?
I'm 6'0" and my feet won't sit flat on the ground, so maybe I need to limit potential test pilot applications to Texans? Big Grin

Cuban heeled boots would likely do it, but whatever floats your boat!

Thanks. I do hope to get out on it soon, however looking at the weather forecast for the next week or two that might involve a few rain checks.

Hi Ninemeister,

I have been following your thread here passionately, waiting to see as everything evolved bit by bit. It has been a great read, and I am in awe of your commitment to getting this build completed.

The end result (even if you may still make some modifications to it in the future) is outstanding! I think your colour choice is absolutely perfect, and very much in line with what I would have chosen. My favourite colour has always been blue, and I have always wanted a blue CB1100. For a while I was looking closely at the White House kit, and especially at the blue one from Samurider's website that you posted in one of your first posts, but I always found it a bit too light (even if this was one of the original colours). Here in Switzerland they actually sold a limited edition CB1100 with the standard tank painted with that colour, one that I believe Apl Rider has in his collection. I was close to getting one of those then as well, but it just wasn't the right blue for me. Yours, on the other hand, is just perfect!!

Congratulations on a great job, and I sincerely hope you will now be able to fully enjoy riding that beauty around.

I appreciate your comments Henrik and hope that I have (in some way) inspired you to do something similar in the future.

As for the blue, the final decision was left to Mike, I liked what he suggested so we just went for it. The code is Turquoise, code Honda 13F which is listed for the CB550 from 1977:

Great stuff, Nine. Now let's just hope for some good weather so you can get going on it. (Good weather? October/November? England? Some hopes!)

But the good news is that my Indian contact is keen to reproduce a CB750-lookalike tank for the CB1100, just like yours, Nine, and his price is projected to be less than HALF that of the Whitehouse one (both unpainted). I am about to send him my tank to copy the base before he fabricates to lookalike top. I'll keep you all updated...
