Side Pannier Cases

Off to France for 7 days at the end of September with partner on pillion, so I emailed Givi to find out what racks and cases I need to go with the V47 or V56 top box i already have, as likely that will soon get filled up :-).

They responded with "Unfortunately we do not make any products to fit the CB1100" !

Has anyone fitted any Givi hard case panniers? If so what model and what mounting plate did you use?

Are there any alternatives that might be worth considering?

CB1100 is a 2017 with twin exhaust as per image below

My error.
I stopped in their Charlotte NC store in 2020 to see “hands on”what they had available. Unfortunately, it was the peak of Covid and you could only access by appointment. Their only notice was a printed sign taped to the entrance door. A website update would have been beneficial. Good luck!

PS Inhousebob has Hepco side cases and mounting racks but I don’t think they are available anymore. The aftermarket accessories for this bike seems to be shrinking.

If you get a Givi E251 mounting plate, you can attach it to any luggage rack - OEM or any other brand. Then you’ll be able to put any Givi Monokey case you’d like on it, like a V47.

I have a V47, a V40 and an E36. Will send pics when I get to work.

Here's what the Givi Monokey E251 Universal Mounting Plate looks like on the back of my CB1100. It's on a Givi brand rack, but if they told you "we have nothing for CB1100", that rack is probably discontinued. The plate will mount to the rack you have with no problems. You already have Monokey boxes, so the E251 is the plate you need for them.


The narrow strip below the back edge of the plate is an LED brake strip that I have installed on the plates on all of my bikes for added brake light visibility.

And hey, here's a feature Mrs. G finds very handy. She can hang stuff I need to take to work from the locking tab on the back of the E251 plate.

1. One member had these used side racks for sale, which I have as well with two panniers mounted on my 2014 CB standard....and I soon will be transfering them onto my 2014 DLX, and I believe my DLX has identical OEM rear rack as yours, flat cross bars???
Can send pics of both racks, panniers and bolts mounting gap, if wanted?
I think, I may have to modify left and right L- shape mounting bracket # 8 & 9

Thanks Peter, was just looking at Hepco but not cheap here in the UK. Not many dealers stock this stuff so everything is to order. Very difficult to try before you buy. This forum is so useful for this sort of thing:-)
