White dog,

As I've said before, that twisting and grunting is part of the initiation into "our thing" Smile

Cormanus, when you started this you could not have you have know the journey you would send us on in search of the item that had Stephen Hawkins only added it to his equations that try to explain all in the universe he would now know meaning of time and the force also. As I have no room to move in the shed I only have one more sleep for today i received an electromagnetic signal the Honda dealer in Traralgon he has them and on Saturday I will collect them and so my chapter in this ongoing journey will reach its destination and thus be completed. We all know the banana benders Last Blast longs for them also. Regards

Noroomtomove, well done on joining the RLET club. You'll not regret it.

For the record, though, I just started this thread as a Johnny-come-lately to the RLET club. To the Ferret goes the honour of starting the whole crazy fad. As noted somewhere else on the forum in the past day or so, there's almost certainly a marketing meeting somewhere in Honda HQ noting the crazy increase in purchases of Part #95010-16001 and determining to fit them to all 2016 models.

As for Last Blast, it's crying out for RLETs.

Tonight a got a PM from a member that had just joined. It was a simple enough question.

What is an RLET?

Kinda hard to explain my friend.... part reality, part magic, larger in legend than their physical size would suggest. Difficult or easy to install depending on one's technique, attitude...and Karma. Interesting in that they came stock on most Hondas for years and yet some say they have never seen them. I only know, that once you put a set on your bike, suddenly the sun will come out, birds will sing, the grass will be greener, sky will be bluer, the roads will be smooth with perfect curves, your bike will run crisper, you will get better gas mileage, all manner of cool stuff will happen. Mystical little things I tell ya, but kinda hard to explain.

Weill I suppose that it's true, even when it comes to the glorious CB1100. "They just don't make 'em like they used to."

I can just picture the discussion amongst the Honda marketing team now.

Idealistic Junior Marketing Guy: "I think it would be great if we included those old school things that cover up the ball end of the clutch and brake levers on the CB1100. You know, those little rubber end lever thingies, what ever it is you call them. Wouldn't that be awesome?!"

Seasoned Marketing Guy: "Are you nuts? You go tossing in those little rubber end lever thingies and the next thing you know they'll want 150 horsepower out of that motor AND 100+ mpg to boot. No way we're opening up that can of worms!"

(At this point the junior marketing guy heads back to his office in shame. Where he returns to his sketches of the retro bike that he dreams of launching someday: the Z150, complete with RLETs.)

A 40 page thread on RLETS, and 2 others going on and someone had to PM Ferret to see what they are. I don't even know what to say about this. Confused

But I still haven't bothered to learn to post pics Blush so maybe I shouldn't talk. Tongue

Ferret, I'm going to PM you about it... Hello OK, not really, I have the instructions, just need to do it.

Next time I drop in to Puds Four Parts in Yarram Yarram will ensure to give him the RLET part number so they become a set thing on the CB750's he restores. Doing my bit to stimulate the world economy.
regards

I have to admit I haven't read this entire thread yet. But, is their record of anyone ever installing RLETS and than deciding, "ahhh, I don't like them " ??

Or is that just craziness ?
