I had a 2007 vfr intercepter anniversary with the Freddie Spencer paint. This new vfr is getting my attention. Like the side exhaust and new body work, adjustable seat etc. Going to take a hard look at one when it hits the showroom floors. Its nice to see Honda improving on proven designs.

Honda is on a roll, and really throwing a lot of new models in different categories. The nay - sayers are pointing towards high prices and unimpressive specs on paper. But that's not what Honda is about. Quality, great engineering, fantastic, tractable powerplants and bulletproof reliability. And damn good looks, IMHO. That VFR is on my list.

Honda is really on a roll and I like what I see thus far. Now, how 'bout an update to the ST 1300. This model is getting very long in the tooth.

The CTX 1300 is the ST1300 "replacement" so far as I know.

I really like the VFR800 and the CBR650F. The CBR would have really tempted me back in October when I bout the CB. Prices are starting to climb, but I have a feeling that'll be happening everywhere...

I agree. I came from a CBR250r. Almost assuredly would have looked hard at either the VFR800 or the CBR650 instead of the CB...the good news for me is that my son needs a bike, so maybe I can get one of these "for him". Big Grin

I think the CTX is clever use of existing parts to create a "new" model. I think the replacement for the ST will use the VFR1200 running gear. Honda's list price for the aging ST is absurdly high and is outclassed and undercut by it's competitors which have benefited from regular updates. I paid about $12000 out the door for my 2005 ST back in 2006 and I don't see an additional $6000 in value in the latest version.

I think you're probably correct, redbirds. The CTX1300 is an interesting bike, but I think it's more of a cruiser/tourer for lack of a better term. I would like to see an additional bike in Honda's line up that fills in that Sport Tourer gap. They're doing some interesting things at Honda this year, so ya never know.

I'm thinking the CB1100 will be the last motorcycle I buy before I die( at least I told my wife that), even though I'm only 50 and could live another 20 or 30 years...this thing better last or I will be bikeless !
