For some reason that Rebel makes me sad.

In its own way, it's a beautiful machine. Three years and eleven miles...oh, that hurts.

I see this so often. Time to time at various garages, there'll be an 80s small-displacement bike there, traded in or whatever...with a hundred or so miles on it Often times rusted out mufflers and whatnot...not from weather so much as incorrect storage.

Precision machine...made and then sold and then left to decompose, not even broken in. Even on my TW, I have 2000 miles on it, and the first season isn't even over. There's a lot to be said about the joys of a small bike...

Great find for your son. The T-100 is a stunner in black. And that trailer...

Thanks Steve. He's had his heart set on a black Bonnie from the beginning, glad he got what he wanted at a good price....and barely broken in ! I tried real hard to steer him onto a black CB. He wants to do a cross-country trip next year, so I sent him the new thread about the member that just did it on a T100 then bought a CB1100 when he got back ROFL

It indeed DOES sound like a plan. He's a genius!

As far as Bonnies are concerned, I'm sure some here will nit pick each and every year's offering, but the modern version was introduced in 2001 and still continues. I would stay with fuel injection, which, I believe came to the US models in 2009. That said, I did own a 2006 which gave me no problems. Just treat the search for and inspection of as you would any other used bike purchase and you'll be fine.

Chapomis, is he going to take you on the cross-country ride?

I would love to do a cross country ride, but not on a motorcycle.
