Looks like I'll end up with just over 10,000 miles this year, but my riding season is short (May-September) and that mileage was shared among four bikes. Took a few multi-day trips on the RT but all in all, I'm riding less than I used to. Much of this is probably related to the fact that my riding partner is no longer riding her own bike, so many of my rides are simply solo 4-5 hour breakfast rides on familiar roads, instead of the longer adventures we used to enjoy together on our own bikes.

I can’t imagine having such a low-mileage bike unless I just brought it home, or I have several.
I’m approaching 26,000 miles and I’ve had mine barely over a year.

Sounds somewhat sad. However, nothing wrong with solo rides - but too many I reckon can become tiresome.

The average rider in the U.S. only rides 3000 miles per year, which means the 'Wing is about 16,000 miles shy of average. Also, lots of folks have more than one bike, so not every bike tends to accumulate a lot of miles. Not sure what this guy's situation is.
That number would also depend on where you live in the U.S.
you should have bought a DELUXE

I put about 8k miles on my CB this past year. Can't wait to ride this weekend. I bought a Honda Civic in July and have a whopping 2k miles on that. If it is above 40 and not raining, I am riding.

this morning I turned over 20,006 miles for the year, pretty much evenly divided among 3 bikes, 283 days riding. (and I was off nearly a month and a half with the broken arm).

Maybe I will inquire next time I'm in there.
The record I think was a bike the same dealer bought back from a customer that had owned the bike for 4 years and put 40 (forty) miles on it. That one knocked my socks off. I usually put 100 on one getting it home after picking it up the first day.
It saddens me too, but there’s likely to be an explanation. It seems particularly strange to have a very low mileage Goldwing which just cries out to be taken touring.
By the way, Ferret, congratulations on the milestone.

LOL, good perspective! But I suspect you'd have to pry those bikes from his cold hands......

Question to Ferret:
Let's say your health, riding spirit, ability and financial situation are still OK/stable for 5 yrs ahead.
Would you then trade in your FJR or CB for this particular Wing if the offer was reasonable for both sides??
