I'm confused. What won't be in the garage? I've had Integras... One from the early 90s. and the other the most "recent" type R from about 13 years ago? The manual transmissions were great. Sure, it was VTEC, but not sure I see the harm in that. Certainly no CVT!

Yes it is a Honda with all its bells and whistles, reliability etc.....But it just does not appeal to me at all. Wish I could find a real nice "Big One." The awesome 1994/95 CB1000! You could offer me two of this new bike or just one CB1000 in great shape, and I would take the CB1000!!!!!

Some bikes (not this one) just do not look all that good in photo's. Then I see it in person and change my mind. This has happened with some cars too.

Meh.

Then there are some really good looking bikes, but I can't stand sitting on them for more than 10 minutes. Big Grin

Not the V-Strom, the new GSX1000S-GT

As far as the C14 goes....you really can't make that comparison. It's like night and day. You'd have to compare to a Versys1000 LT

I was indeed, well, the new version now named the GSX1000S-GT Thumbs Up
To my mind you do need more than 100HP if you are going to pile a bike high with luggage and go two up. I got rid of my Africa Twin because it was quite anaemic two up fully loaded. You can make the argument all day that 100HP is enough but by the same token you could say that about 80HP or 50HP, they will all break the speed limit and go from A to B.

Agreed, if the numbers were arbitrary, pulled out of your hat. But the Wright Brother flew a two-seater with 16 HP. The first Porsche left any other car in the dust with 80HP. I could go on like this forever. As long as you don't say what your real needs are, no number can be finally defended.

The numbers are totally arbitrary, aren't they? Only those with significant financial resources can set out their wants (they're not 'needs') and then spend what they need to have them. The rest of us will have to make endless compromises unless, like me, they're lucky enough to find a bike that makes them happy.

I love the features of the bike, I'm so-so on the appearance. I think the Africa Twin looks better, but I feel like this bike might come in cheaper, with panniers included.

The ergos will be what decides it. Anything that makes the knees and hips sit a little straighter is an improvement. Could’ve used that on the trip out west last year. But nothing beats the CB in the looks department. I’m probably getting to the point that the longer trips will involve a trailer.

Will the CB1100 be pulling the trailer, or will the trailer be used to help stretch out and straighten the knees and hips while cruising on the CB1100? Big Grin

The CB is gonna be inside the trailer while I’m sitting in the cab of Goldwing Dave’s truck. The NT will be more ergonomically friendly for long rides. I guess what I’m saying is that the CB DLX is probably my one and only bike because I love the way it looks and rides even though it’s a tad cramped at the knees.

Maybe something like this GO? Then he could stand and stretch: [url=https://www.pinterest.com/pin/123497214757870278/?d=t&mt=login]https://www.pinterest.com/pin/1234972147...t&mt=login

AND wear a cool helmet. Not DOT rated though…
