Welcome, Mrded. Does your forum name mean "murdered" as in you've made every possible part on your bike black? Or is it "Mr. Ded" as in you've broken away from the "walkers" and now you're an undead "rider?" That's awesome!

Not quite sure how to say it, the nickname just happened to be like that historically Smile

I'll be 66 this year, sold my CB1100 in July. If I'd bought a deluxe I'd probably still have it, consistently searched for the 6th gear. That and the lack of ABS led to my gradual disillusionment with the bike.
Primarily ride a Triumph with a Watsonian Squire sidecar, good for grocery shopping, ice cream runs with my dogs, and long rides wandering the state and national highway systems, I have an aversion to the Interstates - just never been a person to hurry up and get nowhere else.
Ride a CB500X on the backroads and gravel roads throughout SW VA, an ideal bike for 35 - 45 mph and 70 mpg.

4 Paws, Sorry the bike didn't work out for you. When you [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=43&pid=103172#pid103172]registered your bike on the forum you said it had ABS. Were you misled when you bought it? When did you realise it didn't have it?

I doubt I was misled at purchase time, think I assumed too much. After purchasing I delved deeper into the bikes just like most other happy and excited purchasers, it was during this research and learning phase I came to the realization my particular model did not have ABS.
Biggest hurdle, to me, was lack of 6th gear.
Excellent motorcycle, if I hadn’t built a Triumph Sidecar rig (classic looks) the CB1100 would have made an excellent “tug”.
It will always be a pleasant ownership experience memory.

Just checking in. Have not visited in quite awhile. Don't ride much anymore. Glad to know forum is still here.

Interesting poll that most of the CB1100 riders here are more than half a century years old. This contradict with what I knew. Most retro bike riders I knew, are the younger lot. The senior rider I knew are on comfy tourer....

I'm 40. Is that too much or too little?
