Down here, because we drive on the left-hand side of the road, the control stalk for car indicators is usually located on the right hand side of the steering wheel. Many European cars, which have been converted from left-hand drive, have their indicators on the left-hand side and they don't get converted. So many times, when I've changed vehicles, I find myself turning on the windscreen wipers to tell people which way I'm going to turn or indicating to wipe the windscreen.

Grrrr.

That's odd. All the Jap cars we get are the right way round. Maybe it's because we make our own Toyotas and Nissans in England? Undecided

Undecided I think the UK vehicles with the indicator stalk on the wrong side came from an EEC or EU mandate, as the Fords of the late 70`s had LH indicators and unfortunately my Land Rover has the same problem whereas our Toyota doesn`t.

Do the '13 CB's in the UK have their single exhaust on the left side?

No. Nor do the Australian '10s and '11s.

Interesting. I thought it was just me, because I came from a 1973 CB350, and, you know, they did things different in 1973. For instance, I can turn my headlight off. That's a good thing, since the alternator doesn't charge the battery with the headlight on at idle. And the headlight switch is right side, three position: OFF, ON, HI.

When I got on the CB1100 I spent an amusing few seconds trying to figure out how to turn the lights on. The run/stop switch on the CB350 is a knob, middle position is on, either way for off. If the engine is off, I can never figure out which way the run/stop switch on the CB1100 is which.

Oh, and I probably rode 400 miles before I figured out that you can push the turn signal to cancel. I kept trying to return it to the center, but it was already there!

All of this I could live with. The fact that I honk the horn every time I want to change lanes is just embarrassing. If you find a good solution, I'm willing to learn. Haven't been back on the CB350 in since I got the new bike, but I'm guessing that's going to be fun...

I had a brand new manual with 13. & 14 wiring diagrams in it. Well I mailed it off with my ECU to Don for the reflash. When I got home fedex had left it under my carport and it was raining that day and dogs tore up my package and my manual got wet and tore up my ECU was laying on the ground wet. But it was fine. I have orderd another manual when I get it I will check to see if the 13. & 14 left switches are the same wiring if so I will let everyone know if they can be swapped out. I'm leaving my 14 switch stock I'm use to it already.

It's OK Ridem. You can have another couple of days to hand in your homework. Smile

Hey cormanus,

I was on the Phone with Ridem as he turned into his driveway and saw what happened. He was NOT happy as he described the scene. I think he bit his tongue to not say bad words!! And to make it worse, he doesn't even have a dog! Thanks neighbors...

I hope I haven't offended him. It was just that his post had all the hallmarks of "the dog got my homework" excuse and I couldn't help myself.

I'd have been reaching for bad words too!

Hey Cormanus not upset I liked your comment. Lol. I was upset when I pulled up in the driveway. & yes had popgun on the phone! My wife was in car with me. I just stopped car and got out and went searching for my ECU lol no signs of a box everything was soaking wet Popgun: last time I said a cuss word was 1/2004. I had a pacemaker put in then and not said a single cuss word from that date no matter how upset I get. But it has help me lots in my everyday life. If I'm working on something and a wrench slips and I hit my hand. I just say ouch, I use to throw the wrench and say a few words and stomp my feet lol. I'm waiting to hear back from FedEx Smile. If not I'm out $65 bucks. Either way I got to get another manual Smile.
