If you put Honda GN4 its sold by the gallon not liters in the US. You want to put the whole gallon ( 4qts) and your good to go. This bike is very hard to get a true reading. You may think your on level ground, reading from one side you can't see the oil turn the bike around the opposite direction and its full. I found a area that reads true after an oil change and check in that spot all the time A gallon of oil will fill the window.

You may be looking at a window full of oil. On my first change I put in the recommended 4 liters. When I checked, I couldn't see any oil. As it turns out, 4 liters will take the level to the very top of the window. The oil is so clean that you can't tell you're looking at oil in the window. I tilted the bike to the left and then I clearly saw the oil level drop in the window.

Another thing you could do is start the bike, let it run for a few seconds, shut it off, then watch the window. You should see the line of oil rise in the window as oil migrates down from the top of the engine into the crankcase.

Thank you so much for all your response, I hope I did not hurt the engine by running the engine for 10 or 20 seconds with only 2.5 liter oil, The dealers here wanted $130.00 for oil change

You can sleep good tonight because there is no way you hurt the engine with over half the capacity in it for 10-20 seconds.

Jay get your neighbor to come over and with you laying on your side on the oil site window side of the bike, shine a flash light on the site window, and have him lift the bike vertically to upright and then let it down again to the side stand. You should be able to see the oil rise and fall in the site window. The oil could be below the site window when on the side stand and above it when the bike is standing vertical. New oil is very clean and it might be hard to see. If you put 4 qts in there ( spec calls for 4.1 qts with filter) you should be good. At 4 qts mine was above the window a hair.

Jay I also posted a video which may help you when putting your bike up on the centerstand.

Rolleyes Buy one of these: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accesso...70130_0_0_

I use one all the time. Sit on the bike, look with your mirror and if necessary lean a little so you can see the oil level.
