Info on this forum really paid off

I have been considering purchasing an RS-3 for my 2014 (std) and in the process of checking into it I discovered this thread
http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread....light=rs-3
which was very helpful. Then as I continued my research I discovered that the rs-3 for the 2013 was not the same rs-3 for a 2014. What I mean by that is the 2013 uses a street series rs-3 as opposed to a 2104 uses a signature series http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/prodcat/1211...-ss-al.asp What does that mean you might ask? Come to find out that the signature series does not have a removable "quite baffle" and is welded into the unit in order to make it meet EPA spec for sound (80dBA) according to Lauren at Yoshimura r&d. Point being if you want more than stock sound levels for your 2014 you must order the 2013 version street series and the center stand stopper for a 2014 unless you dont mind doing the mod shown here http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread....ight=rs-3. Glad this forum was here to help me. Saved me all the hassle or ordering the can for a 2014 and not being happy with it. The part # for the 2013 is 1211025500 and for the 2014 is 12111e5500. The part number for the 2014 center stand stopper bracket is 12111-sstp as per my conversation with Lauren at Yashimura r&d.

Great post, thanks! I do have a question... I'm pretty sure this is the exhaust I will buy for my 2013 CB. I want to delete the center stand (I have a couple of different bike lifts). Any issues you, or anyone else, are aware of that might result from leaving the center stand off?

Interesting post and I'm sure you've just paid it forward. My '14 CB11 came with a dealer installed RS-3. I like the sound of it and never considered removing the baffle. I took a peek and saw an allen head bolt at the top and it appears to be welded to the can on the bottom as you look inside the end of the muffler.

No issues that I'm aware of other than there are times when I wanted the bike more upright but wouldn't necessarily want to bother with (or have access to) a lift. The CB rests at a decent angle when on its side stand; much more than the VFR. I also imagine the center stand would be very much appreciated in the odd event of needing roadside repairs that would benefit from having either end off the ground (having the ability to weight the rear to lift the front if necessary). But "issues"? Not really.

Yes, according to my electronic scale, you will shed 5.3 lbs by removing the center stand and stopper bracket (which was included with my RS3)!

I removed the center stand and have on my 2013 the RS3 .... no issues at all .... hold on ..... maybe one ... you will get a few drops less of fuel into the gas tank ... since the bike is not centered while fueling up ....

Also just as an FYI, my RS3 will be soon for sale .... getting a MotoGear full Ti system from Mr. T

Is your RS-3 for the 2014 or 2013? How much would you sell for?
