Found It!!!!! - fortunately it wasn't from the bike - i was loading up the CB into the truck to move campgrounds today and noticed the tonneau cover tensioning mechanism cotter pin had no security - replaced the "R" pin - sorted - thank you all for looking where this pin could have come from and your suggestions as to where it came from.
