Since the demise of the PR3, I had been planning on going to Bridgestone BT45s. I'd run these (3 sets) on the CB750, which has similar weight and configuration. I routinely got better than 10K miles from each set, which suited me just fine. They also came in stock sizes for both the CB11 and the CB750.
Looking ahead to spring, when the CB11 will be needing new rubber, I was sad to find that after 20+ years, Bridgestone is discontinuing the BT45 and replacing it with the BT46. The tread pattern is about the same, but they're using a new compound on the rear tire. The rear is available in the stock size for the CB11, but the front would have to be either 10mm narrower or about an inch larger in diameter (i.e. 100/90 or 110/90).
,
They say they're going to be producing a lot more size options in 2021, so I might just wait a few months in the hope that they decide to produce a 110/80 front tire. I've always thought the BT45s were comparable in performance and longevity to the PR3s. I think I'll probably take a chance on the BT46s and hope they didn't mess up a good thing.
