A big/tall guy is going to create more drag than a short/small rider and their gas mileage is going to suffer some because of it.

Yeah, I think this has a lot to do with the difference too. I'm big guy, a lot of wind drag too.

If you get those amazing close to 60mpg great, if not and your in the 40mpg range I feel for you. The bad or poor mileage that my 1100 was getting played a part in the decision to trade it in... Sorry to say that... Plus the deal I got with $200 over blue book was hard to pass up... Do I regret it, some days, but I will never see a day with more than one bike in the garage, I can safely say I will never be able to afford it.

Just remember as we are all unique as is our bikes no matter the flavor/brands/make/model...

Did I miss a thread while on vacation? Dbuster what did you get?

Not sure I thought I waited until you were back before I got the new ride. A Kawasaki Vulcan 900 custom. Brand new 2011 left over zero miles, they knocked $3000 right off the top plus the trade in, scored bags, Avon grips, and seven year warranty and still dropped my payment and the insurance dropped $250 a year! Not to shabby for my trade in. It took me a year to hit 1000 miles on the cb but I am at 800 in 6 weeks with the Vulcan. So much nicer when you get better mileage and a task can get you over 200 miles before the reserve light comes on.

The cb would flash reserve for me at 120 miles...

If I had all the money that many here seem to have, all hard earned also, I would have the cb in the garage also... But I for one am one who will be working until the end so saving money with gas is up there on my list. That is why I just spent the weekend working 26 hours replacing 600 sq ft roughly of rubber roof over our breezeway saving us over $3000 on the roof job starting tomorrow. Partying the price know with torn up knees but it is worth the savings.

Oh cool. Last I remembered you were researching that model and were about to go in for a test ride. Must liked it Wink sounds like you made a heck of a deal. So sorry the CB didn't work out for you, but sounds like you ended up with a bike you like so all is good in the end. Glad you stuck around even though you no longer have the CB.

Did you post a pic up some place, I'd like to see it.

One taken after riding out 20 or so miles for a burger with the wife on her scooter at top dawgs - the home if the 100+ different burgers.

You'd think a place called Top Dawgs would have 100 different Hot Dogs lol

Pretty bike. Are those the stock pipes? Just out of curiosity, what kind of mileage are you getting with it?

I am closing in on 3000 miles on my 14 and the mileage seems to be getting better. Last tank my last bar started flashing at 172 and the 65 mile count down to empty began, indicating a tank range of close to 240 miles.

Nice looking bike, dBuster. Reminds me a bit of the Shadow. I really like that red which always seems to me to have the faintest hint of purple.

Too many rides to TDs and I would need a Road King. Wink

Cheers, and nice buy dBuster.

Stock pipes. Wish it had the black stock pipes as these chrome ones show the water spots like crazy. The stock pipes are sounding good also. Might do a different seat next year but the stock is working great for me now. Maybe when the wife wants to 2up then a new seat and back rest will be on the bike.

Last mpg check I was at 53 miles per gallon basically riding the same as I did the cb and was only getting 39-40 mpg with the cb.

I agree with the name of the place but it is out there in a little town of Mindoro, Wisconsin, they have a website I believe. A big biker destination spot. If your there for your first time it takes a while to read all the different burgers, 108 they claim but I think it was more, but you find your ones you like for future visits.

Out riding today, and the bike turned over 3000 miles. Got to 180.6 on the odo and the last bar hadn't started flashing or counting backwards yet. Last tank it went to counting backwards at 172 miles so figured it was getting close. Pulled onto a station and refilled. Took 3.1 gallons, computes out to 58.3 mpg.
