I didn't reuse the gasket. Won't come out of stock muffler. I can order a new gasket and that will take up some of the slack. The adapters provided won't fit. They are too big to fit. My connector Pope from the Yoshimora won't work either. Tried them all. The adapter provided may work if I pound the crap out of the opposite side with a rubber mallet and covered with a towel. Still can be worked out. Just need to think a little. I wonder what mgoodie did. He didn't explain his install with many details at all. That crush gasket may be all I need. Dsinned. Let me know how you make out.

I can't get the old (stock) gasket out either, but doesn't the Emgo come with its own gasket? Can you reuse the clamp off the stock muffler? It has a 12mm bolt and nut on it to tighten the connection, which may be better than the Emgo clamp.

I should have mine to try out by this Friday, just in time for the FOJ weekend.

No gasket with the emgo, just the reducers and everything I've read about them is negative. They leak and don't fit right. Most people have to use a gasket sealer with it. The oem gasket can be easily ordered but it's a little pricey for what it is. The oem clamp probably could be used but there is way too much of a gap to tighten without something to bridge the gap.

Another thing to keep in mind, when mounting the hanger you will need to loosen the rear set to have enough clearance to back out the bolt holding the rear brake lines if your going to mount it there. The swing arm is in the way.

Hmmm . . . the picture of the Emgo on ebay shows there is a gasket that comes with the mounting kit. I guess I'll find out soon enough if that is "real". If this turns out to be more trouble than its worth, I'll just put on something else "made for" the bike, like a Delkevic slip on, which fortunately is also close to the bottom of the price range for aftermarket exhausts.

As far as negative reviews, I haven't read that many. The complaints relate to difficulties with mounting the unit as you well known. OTOH, many other reviews rave about the overall quality and especially the SOUND, and of course, the rock bottom price makes it a really great VALUE.

Hang in there man, surely if there is a will, there is a way!
Can you try wrapping several layers of high temperature muffler sealer tape around the end of the link pipe that inserts into the inlet to the Emgo? That kind of tape is commonly available in auto parts stores.

I ordered the OEM muffler gasket to see if it seals the gap. The gasket is pretty thick and may do the trick. If not then I have a new soft ball bat. Lol.
The negative reviews I'm talking about are not about the looks or sound, that's all good. The negativity is about fitment. Most from the triumph forums stating they have experienced exhaust leaks and gaps due to not being able to tighten down and spaces are worthless. Fitment is usually always the issue on universal products. I bought this muffler after reading goodies posts about it bolts right up no problem in ten minutes. Haven't heard back from him. Even though he sold his bike I would still be interested to know about his ten minute problem free install. He also mentioned about it not bolting to original hanger location after the fact. Maybe I should have done more research. Trial and error is my way of life. Lol.

I rec'd my Dekelvic link pipe today and it came with a gasket to more than adequately seal the connection to Honda's stock intermediate exhaust pipe. With the supplied silicon rubber compound smeared all over the mating surfaces, it slipped on easily and tightened right up with the clamp provided. The center stand stop bracket on the link pipe aligned satisfactorily (still a little off center, but good enough).

In addition to the link pipe, I rec'd a Dekelvic 9" oval polished SS slip on with hanger and its own clamp as well. It comes with a baffle preinstalled and the materials quality and polished finish is excellent. Everything from Dekelvic installed without difficulty, however I did not tighten all the connections yet. This is so that I can check the EMGO, which will hopefully arrive by tomorrow in time for the FOJ weekend.

"usgcmac", my question for you is, are you having difficulty attaching the EMGO slip on between your Yoshi link pipe (LP) and Honda's intermediate pipe (IP), or between the Yoshi LP and the inlet to the EMGO?
I don't believe "goldie" used an additional link pipe, which may contribute to "issues" with a proper install.

Another member here (gcarper) did his install like I'm doing mine except he used an additional link pipe he had from another bike. I believe it was a 2004 FZ1. His install surely was more professional overall, but still req'd some additional "tweaking" to get everything to fit and tighten up properly.

. . . fingers crossed!

No, if you have a link pipe it's a whole different story. My yoshimora link pipe will not work, not even close to the same size. My install was to be right to the head pipe. Didn't know you ordered the Delkevik as well.

I'm not going to sweat it too much, if the Honda gasket doesn't do it then I'll just get rid of it or maybe just look for a cheap link pipe

uscgmac, I got the Delkevic 9" oval slip on ($185 on Amazon) for TWO reasons. 1) I can use their link pipe in common with two different cans, either the Delkevic or EMGO, although I've yet to decide which I will like better. Stay tuned . . . its nice to have choices and the cost of both is still less than almost all other aftermarket exhausts sold singularly. 2) It's a great looking exhaust and will certainly "wake up" my CB1100 in its own right. Either way, my CB1100 will now sound like a proper motorcycle!

Hopefully I'll be able to try out both over the FOJ weekend. From the sound bites I've heard on Youtube, I think the EMGO may produce the "throatier" sound of the two, but might be hard to tell the difference. Conversely, I think the Kelkevic will look better subjectively speaking. These are both glass pack mufflers (with removable baffles), so at least I'll have a spare when one wears out. Best of all, if they are too loud for my neighborhood or the noise gets to me while riding, I can always go back to stock.

Mine literally Just bolted right up, I think I used an adapter that came with it but I never had any issue with the supplied clamp or adapters.
Its been awhile since it did it but if I remember correct I just removed stock muffler and slid the emgo on the stock mid pipe. It stuck out to the side just a bit but it looked fine for me. The clamp that came with the emgo worked fine I think I did use an adaptor that came with the emgo and when installed and tightened down It was not moving nor did it ever leak. I bolted the hangar to a bolt that held the brake caliper on to the swingarm, this did take a small bend in the hanger to make it work and be able to tighten fully. In the end after a year and a half with it, it never moved/caused any trouble looked like new and it did get a bit louder as it broke in but I like loud so I was happy.
