You're right, that does make a difference in the look. Again, I hadn't even been paying attention to that. Great - now I have something else to think about that's going to cost me $.......

Guys- those are the '14 wheels that came on the bike. I simply stripped the black off the wheel lip. Just some painters tape, paint stripper and a scotch brite pad. Smile Cheap and easy.

I actually don't care for the way the factory chose to do the black/silver wheels because they went into the barrel of the rim too far, too much silver- looks odd. I prefer just the lip.

Brilliant!Thumbs Up

Can you post a picture of those plates? I'd like to see it.

To me looking at my 2013 bike it is much closer to the late 70s early 80s CB750F. DOHC engine, tank that is closer to the 80s as opposed to the 70s and wheels that invoke the original comstar ones.. I wish there was more available for that transformation.

Agreed. Even the tank shape is more like the 80s CB750F. I'm in 2 minds as to whether to:

1 - Use my Whitehouse tank to make a K10 CB1100

2 - Stick the original tank back on and repaint it to look more like the bike below

No need to apologize. Given the scarcity of these bikes, that’s pretty amazing.

Do you know locomotive engineer?

I'm actually in the process of changing my rear fender out for a small fairing/cowl that looks a bit more like the F's!

you can force the bike to look like the 70's models if you spend 4-5k on a K10 conversion kit from Whitehouse, but for my money, bringing out the 80's is definitely the way to go.

I really want to polish my cylinder fins like this. What is the best way?
I love what you have done with all the accents.

Seat. Like.

Sidewalls remind somewhat of those of the mid-80's Yamahas.

The CB1100 shouts UJM to me, and that's what I like. I had a couple of 750 Nighthawks back in the day that I really liked, and my 2013 CB1100 puts a grin on my face every time.
